About this vehicle
The Canis Bodhi is a four-seat, two-door Off-Road pickup with an open cabin and a rugged, surplus military-truck appearance. Its body carries a rusty, dirty finish, with a heavy-duty bumper, tow hooks, protected circular lamps and a flat vented hood. A roll cage rises over the cabin and carries four floodlights, while the rear bed has storage boxes that act as extra seats. Its permanently sand-covered underside and exposed layout give it a well-used desert look.
Trevor Philips owns a Bodhi as his personal vehicle in Grand Theft Auto V, and it is available at his safehouse. It can also appear near him when the game switches to Trevor, unless he is using another vehicle. After Hang Ten, it may appear at the Vanilla Unicorn. A matching Bodhi can be found on the dirt road opposite Hookies in Grand Theft Auto Online. Online players can buy it from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $25,000, and Organizations can request one through the CEO/VIP Vehicles menu.
The Bodhi has solid acceleration, a decent top speed and very strong braking for its weight. Its response is slow and its handling can feel boat-like, but it turns within a reasonably tight circle and remains manageable through fast corners. Four-wheel drive, sturdy construction and leaf suspension make it effective on dirt roads and hills, while its roof-mounted floodlights help at night. The open sides leave its occupants exposed to gunfire. It is used throughout Trevor-related missions and appears in several Online jobs, heists and business missions as transport or an enemy support vehicle.

- ◆Bodhi means "wisdom" in Buddhism and is the understanding possessed by a Buddha regarding the nature of things. Bodhi is also the name of the tree which Siddhārtha Gautama meditates under for the first time to become Buddha.
- ◆The car could be named after Bodhi Ogg, the son of the voice and motion capture actor for Trevor, Steven Ogg.
- ◆The name could also be a reference to the 1991 film Point Break. The main antagonist, a bank robber named Bodhi, associates with a group of surfers who are mistaken for his crew. The surfers own a nearly identical to the one Trevor owns, aside from the color, which is featured prominently in the first act of the movie.
- ◆If the player climbs on top of the Bodhi to stand on the driver's seat and then presses the enter-vehicle button, they will be warped into the driver's seat, unlike with other roofless vehicles.
- ◆A clean variant of the Bodhi appears being driven by a civilian in the first GTA V trailer.
- ◆Because it is classified as an off-road vehicle, picking up other characters to hang out causes them to act like the car would be something out of the ordinary ("That's one weird-ass ride, homie" etc.).
- ◆The Southern San Andreas Super Autos website describes the vehicle as having made its way "from military to redneck to hipster". This is a clear reference to Trevor's background: he was once in the Canadian army (military), he lives in the countryside (redneck) and is accused of being a hipster by Michael in Paleto Score Setup.
- ◆If the player takes Trevor's Bodhi as Franklin or Michael he will call the character, raving at him for stealing the truck.
- ◆On Trevor's license plate, it reads "BETTY 32", which implies that Mrs. Philips' first name is Betty and her birthyear is 1932.
- ◆The "BETTY 32" license plate also appears on the Faggio Trevor uses in one of the switch scenes.
