Rebel

The Karin Rebel is a two-door, two-seat light pickup in the Off-Road class. It takes the place once occupied by the Bobcat as a compact pickup, while the HD Universe Bobcat becomes a full-size truck. Its squared body, extended fenders and raised suspension draw on older Toyota pickups, especially the Toyota Hilux. The tailgate carries embossed KARIN lettering in the manner of the Hilux, and the rear quarters wear "REBEL 4x4" markings.

The Rebel has a flat chrome front bumper, circular headlamps set into square housings, a black grille, side steps and a medium-sized load bed. Its lifted undercarriage uses blue shocks and red springs, and it rides on eight-spoke wheels with high-profile off-road tyres. Some examples carry a bull bar or a six-point bed-mounted roll bar, sometimes with four spotlights. The cabin shares elements with the Bobcat XL and includes a CB radio; Trevor can hear trucker chatter in Blaine County even when the radio is off.

Priced at $22,000, the Rebel uses a V8 with a five-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive. On roads it accelerates well, reaches a reasonable truck-class speed and remains comparatively level through corners, although its firm suspension makes for a harsh ride. It is among the game's strongest off-road vehicles: its clearance, four-wheel drive and tyres let it climb hills and cross rocks with little risk of rolling over. Its suspension also absorbs jump landings well, though its short wheelbase can leave it beached on rocks.
