La Laramie Gang è una banda di picchiatori mercenari al servizio di ricchi acquirenti terrieri. Quando un proprietario si rifiuta di vendere, ricorre a minacce e violenza per costringerlo a concludere l'affare. Prima del 1907, Abel Atherton li assume per fare pressione su David Geddes, il proprietario di Pronghorn Ranch. Il membro noto della banda è Bart Cavanaugh, mentre il suo capo resta non identificato. La banda opera da Hanging Dog Ranch, in Big Valley.
John Marston incontra per la prima volta la banda quando porta un carro di rifornimenti a Pronghorn Ranch nel 1907. Due uomini della Laramie sequestrano il carro e fuggono con esso. John li insegue, recupera le provviste e diventa un bracciante per Geddes. In seguito, diversi membri della banda arrivano al ranch e minacciano Abe. John interviene e lotta contro il loro capo, costringendo gli uomini ad andarsene.
La banda torna alcuni giorni dopo per vendicarsi di Pronghorn Ranch. I suoi uomini uccidono due lavoratori, portano via il bestiame del ranch e incendiano gli edifici. John si unisce a Tom Dickens e Abe in un assalto a Hanging Dog Ranch. Dickens copre il ranch dall'alto, Abe prende posizione alle sue spalle e John entra dal davanti per eliminare gli uomini della Laramie.
Dopo lo scontro a Hanging Dog Ranch, John affronta il capo della banda e lo giustizia. L'attacco distrugge gran parte del gruppo presente al ranch, ma la Laramie Gang rimane attiva nel 1907. I suoi uomini sopravvissuti occupano Hanging Dog Ranch e si possono trovare anche nei dintorni di Big Valley, dove restano ostili verso chiunque si avvicini a loro.

- ◆Unlike any other gang in the game, the Laramie Gang is the only one whose members are identified as "Stranger" instead of their own gang name when the player interacts with them.
- ◆Despite only being active in Big Valley, their gang photo depicts them in New Austin. This may be a developer oversight, or it could imply the gang was supposed to appear in New Austin as well.
- ◆In newspapers they are called the "Laramie Corp." The name is a reference to the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, which became a powerful economic and political force with corporate-like interests by the 1890s. The Association often hired groups of gunmen, ostensibly to eliminate cattle rustlers, but also more pointedly to attack small farms and independent ranches.
- ◆Laramie, derived from the French surname LaRamie, often refers to various locations in Wyoming, including a city, county, river, and mountain range. The gang’s characteristics and actions in the game (including intimidation, assassination, etc.) reflect those of gunmen hired typically by large ranches during the early 1890s in Wyoming’s infamous Johnson County War, which has been a popular basis for countless Western novels, films, and television shows.
