Le Laramie Gang est une bande d'hommes de main engagés qui travaillent pour de riches acheteurs de terres. Lorsqu'un propriétaire refuse de vendre, ils recourent aux menaces et à la violence pour le contraindre à conclure un accord. Avant 1907, Abel Atherton les engage pour faire pression sur David Geddes, le propriétaire de Pronghorn Ranch. Leur membre connu est Bart Cavanaugh, tandis que leur chef reste non identifié. Le gang opère depuis Hanging Dog Ranch, dans Big Valley.
John Marston croise le gang pour la première fois lorsqu'il apporte un chariot de ravitaillement à Pronghorn Ranch en 1907. Deux hommes du Laramie Gang s'emparent du chariot et partent avec. John les poursuit, récupère les provisions et devient employé de ranch pour Geddes. Plus tard, plusieurs membres du gang viennent au ranch et menacent Abe. John intervient et se bat contre leur chef, forçant les hommes à partir.
Le gang revient quelques jours plus tard pour se venger de Pronghorn Ranch. Ses hommes tuent deux employés, chassent le bétail du ranch et incendient des bâtiments. John rejoint Tom Dickens et Abe dans un assaut contre Hanging Dog Ranch. Dickens couvre le ranch depuis les hauteurs, Abe prend position derrière, et John entre par l'avant pour éliminer les hommes du Laramie Gang.
Après le combat à Hanging Dog Ranch, John confronte le chef du gang et l'exécute. L'attaque détruit la majeure partie du groupe présent au ranch, mais le Laramie Gang reste actif en 1907. Ses hommes survivants occupent Hanging Dog Ranch et peuvent aussi être trouvés autour de Big Valley, où ils restent hostiles envers quiconque les approche.

- ◆Unlike any other gang in the game, the Laramie Gang is the only one whose members are identified as "Stranger" instead of their own gang name when the player interacts with them.
- ◆Despite only being active in Big Valley, their gang photo depicts them in New Austin. This may be a developer oversight, or it could imply the gang was supposed to appear in New Austin as well.
- ◆In newspapers they are called the "Laramie Corp." The name is a reference to the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, which became a powerful economic and political force with corporate-like interests by the 1890s. The Association often hired groups of gunmen, ostensibly to eliminate cattle rustlers, but also more pointedly to attack small farms and independent ranches.
- ◆Laramie, derived from the French surname LaRamie, often refers to various locations in Wyoming, including a city, county, river, and mountain range. The gang’s characteristics and actions in the game (including intimidation, assassination, etc.) reflect those of gunmen hired typically by large ranches during the early 1890s in Wyoming’s infamous Johnson County War, which has been a popular basis for countless Western novels, films, and television shows.
