Nokota to niewielka rasa konia z klasy wyścigowej w Red Dead Redemption 2, o prowadzeniu typu Race. Przedkłada szybkość i przyspieszenie nad zdrowie oraz wytrzymałość. Jest bardzo reaktywny i zwrotny, dlatego dobrze nadaje się do szybkiego pokonywania krótkich tras. Wśród koni wyścigowych dorównuje wielu rasom swojej klasy pod względem tempa i przyspieszenia, lecz niższa wytrzymałość gorzej sprawdza się podczas długiej, wymagającej jazdy.
Zwykłe Nokoty spotyka się na wolności. Blue Roan i White Roan można znaleźć w środkowej części Heartlands w New Hanover, na północ od Armadillo albo w pobliżu Fort Mercer w New Austin. Zwykłe maści tej rasy to Blue Roan, White Roan, Reverse Dapple Roan i Scarred Blue Roan. Jedną ze zwykłych maści można kupić, a pozostałe występują dziko.
Karen Jones jeździ w 1899 roku na wyjątkowej Nokocie maści Smoky Black o imieniu Old Belle, która przebywa w obozie gangu. Falmouth, Nokota Grey Roan Sabino należący do Charlesa Smitha, znajduje się w Beecher's Hope przed "American Venom" w 1907 roku. W czasie "Home Improvement for Beginners" Falmouth wraz z Nell IV, koniem Uncle'a, ciągnie w dół chatę stojącą wcześniej na ziemi Beecher's Hope.

- ◆The Scarred Blue Roan found in Murfree Brood Random Encounters will be underweight and have empty cores when first acquired, likely due to their poor treatment by the Murfrees. Despite being labelled as a Nokota, this horse uses a slightly modified version of the Appaloosa model.
- ◆The scarred horses are considered special by the game, and as such cannot be sold to Clay Davies because he "doesn't want to deal with the owner".
- ◆The two encounters that include the Scarred Blue Roan are as follows: one involves the Murfrees with a wagon full of corpses and a woman, with a 1/3 chance of the Blue Roan spawning. The other method involves setting up a campfire in Murfree country and there may be a random encounter where the Murfrees will talk down to the player and ride away on the Scarred Blue Roan and Scarred Blanket Appaloosa.
- ◆A random encounter near Blackwater features a White Roan Nokota that has been shot with arrows. Brushing the horse will clean up the wounds, but the arrows will only be removed when the horse's model is refreshed (typically occurs when visiting a stable, reloading the game, or during specific missions).
- ◆The Blue Roan Nokota is a black base roan featuring a star and stripe.
- ◆The White Roan Nokota appears to be a maximum sabino overo with a mane and tail that is not sun-bleached. While the eyes are brown, the intro cutscene to "My Last Boy" features a unique variant that has blue eyes instead.
- ◆The Reverse Dapple Roan is a black base blue roan featuring reverse dappling.
- ◆The Scarred Blue Roan Nokota is a darker version of the Blue Roan, featuring the same markings albeit with numerous deep wounds that have penetrated the skin.
- ◆The Gray Roan Sabino is based off an actual graying sabino that was either a chestnut originally, or had an extensively sun-bleached mane and tail. Like the reference, this features a skull face marking and four socks. Neither display any noticeable roan characteristics, although the gray gene overwrites roaning as the horse ages.
- ◆The Smoky Black Nokota is in actuality a graying horse with what is likely a bay base and a sun-bleached mane and tail. "Bloody marks" (areas of the fur with heavy red pigmentation) can be observed on the shoulder and legs.
