John Marston encontra Seth Briars remexendo túmulos no cemitério de Coot's Chapel. Seth procura objetos de valor no corpo de Josephine Byrd, mas fala logo de um mapa do tesouro que foi dividido entre ele e seu antigo parceiro, Moses Forth. Moses ficou com a outra metade, e Seth pede que John o acompanhe até Benedict Point, onde ele está detido.
John segue com Seth por Cholla Springs até Benedict Point. Ao chegarem, Seth mostra dois delegados perto da cadeia e diz que precisa afastá-los para conseguir chegar a Moses. Ele manda John pegar o cavalo de um deles, enquanto tenta entrar no local sem a atenção dos homens da lei.
John toma o cavalo de um delegado e sai de Benedict Point perseguido pelos dois policiais. Depois de despistá-los pelo campo, ele volta à cidade. Seth já chegou a Moses e o deixa amarrado do lado de fora da Telegraph Office. Seth entrega uma Pardon Letter a John e entra no escritório, enquanto Moses continua caído em Benedict Point.

Curiosidades
- ◆At the point in the mission where stealing the deputy's horse is required, the player can walk to the back of the shack where Moses is and kill him. This will not register as killing him but will put a bounty on the player's head as if the horse had been taken. The mission will continue as normal.
- ◆This is not possible in the Nintendo Switch version, as killing Moses in this manner will result in a mission failure.
- ◆When Seth gives the player the Pardon Letter and walks inside the Telegraph Office, the player can either kill or untie Moses. Sometimes when shooting Moses in the head, he will stop squirming for a moment, and then resume as though nothing had happened; it takes a second or third shot to finish him off.
- ◆Oddly, Seth will not die if the player shoots him at the start of the mission, he will just stand up and run away.
- ◆If you fail the horse ride too many times, at one point Seth will start talking about how the last thing he ate was a crow, and that it tasted just like a pig his dad killed when he was a child.
