O American Standardbred é uma raça de cavalo de porte médio da classe Race em Red Dead Redemption 2. É um cavalo de corrida, de corpo ágil e pernas fortes. Seu manejo Race o torna rápido e fácil de manobrar, trocando saúde e vigor mais baixos por velocidade maior e aceleração moderada. Entre os cavalos de corrida, é uma montaria veloz, mas menos resistente.
American Standardbreds aparecem como cavalos transitórios na natureza. As pelagens Buckskin e Black podem ser encontradas ao norte de Cumberland Forest, em New Hanover, no nordeste de Big Valley, em West Elizabeth, e nas proximidades de Mercer Station, em New Austin. A raça tem as pelagens Black, Buckskin, Palomino Dapple e Silver Tail Buckskin. A pelagem Black não possui marcas.
Sean MacGuire monta um American Standardbred Silver Tail Buckskin chamado Ennis, que fica no acampamento da gangue em 1899. No epílogo, um cavalo parecido com Ennis é vendido no A. Aitken Livery & Stable, em Tumbleweed. Um cavaleiro montando a égua Black Ariel pode desafiar o jogador para corridas em um encontro recorrente, e Ariel pode ser tomada depois disso. Em Red Dead Online, Horley monta um American Standardbred Light Buckskin exclusivo.
