Michael De Santa wartet bei Trevor Philips's Trailer in Sandy Shores, als Ron Jakowski auf der Suche nach Trevor eintrifft. Ron erwähnt einen regelmäßig verkehrenden Merryweather-Zug, und Trevor kehrt kurz darauf mit Patricia Madrazo zurück. Trevor erklärt, dass der Zug eine wertvolle Lieferung transportiert, die ausreicht, um die Angelegenheit mit Martin Madrazo zu regeln, und zieht Michael für den Überfall hinzu. Er schickt Michael in einem Dinghy zur Raton Canyon Bridge, während er auf einer Sanchez östlich von Sandy Shores fährt.

Trevor fährt neben dem Güterzug her, nutzt die erhöhte Böschung neben den Gleisen, um auf die Waggons zu springen, und läuft über die Dächer zur Lokomotive. Michael erreicht den orangefarbenen Container und sprengt dessen Türen mit sticky bombs auf. Trevor kommt an Land und wehrt Merryweather-Boote, Hubschrauber und Schützen ab, während Michael die Lieferung in den Dinghy lädt. Trevor steigt zu ihm, und sie entkommen unter weiterer Verfolgung die Stromschnellen hinab in Richtung Flussmündung. An einem Strand nahe North Chumash untersuchen sie den Koffer und finden ein antikes Artefakt. Trevor will es haben, doch Michael will es Martin Madrazo geben. Michael verspricht, Trevor beim Überfall auf das Union Depository mit Lester Crest und Franklin Clinton zu helfen, überzeugt ihn zuzustimmen, nimmt das Artefakt an sich und lässt die Fluchtfahrzeuge zurück.

Wissenswertes

  • ◆The collision of the two trains on the bridge is taken from an identical scene in the 1995 movie Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, which ends with two trains colliding on a bridge, exploding and falling into the river below.
  • ◆When Trevor and Patricia return to the trailer, Michael makes a sarcastic remark about Stockholm syndrome, claiming it is "very nice this time of year". Stockholm syndrome is a psychological phenomenon whereby hostages express sympathy or empathy towards their captors, as highlighted by Trevor's and Patricia's mutual affection for each other. Ned Luke has also stated that this was one of his favorite lines to do as Michael in GTA V.
  • ◆The optional task "Better than CJ" is a reference to the mission Wrong Side of the Tracks in GTA San Andreas, which has CJ riding a dirtbike and chasing after a train in a similar manner to Trevor. It is also a reference to the popular line said by Big Smoke, "All we had to do, was follow the damn train, CJ!", if the notoriously difficult mission is failed by losing the train, or if the train reaches the Frederick Bridge with any Vagos members still alive.
