In Tumbleweed führt Seth Briars John Marston zu einem alten Herrenhaus, in dem er seinen Schatz verborgen glaubt. Bewaffnete Männer haben die verlassene Stadt und das Haus besetzt, daher bittet Seth John, einen Weg freizumachen. John folgt ihm durch Tumbleweed und kämpft gegen die Gangmitglieder, die ihnen den Weg zum Herrenhaus versperren.

Die Vorderseite des Gebäudes ist abgeriegelt, sodass Seth und John durch die Kellertüren eintreten müssen. John tötet die unten wartenden Männer und dringt durch die engen Räume des Herrenhauses vor. Seth bleibt dicht bei ihm, während John sich nach oben kämpft, wo weitere Schützen im zweiten Stock Stellung bezogen haben.

In einem Raum im Obergeschoss erreicht Seth schließlich den Ort, nach dem er gesucht hat. Er findet ein Glasauge und betrachtet den kleinen Gegenstand als seinen lange verlorenen Schatz. John bleibt zurück und sieht zu, wie Seth seine Entdeckung im Herrenhaus von Tumbleweed feiert.

Wissenswertes

  • ◆The title of this mission, "Let the Dead Bury Their Dead", is a quote from Jesus in Matthew 8:22 and Luke 9:60 when talking with an unnamed disciple about following him and going and proclaiming the kingdom of God.
  • ◆People at camp sites occasionally talk about a family that was eaten by a ghost in Tumbleweed and that all that was left was a glass eye. The eye Seth found may be related to the camp fire story.
  • ◆Ironically, in the basement, Seth walks past the real treasure for Treasure Hunter Rank 4.
  • ◆As of June 2014, multiple players have confirmed that after the last cutscene of the mission, they can hear a Zombie Marston growl made by Marston.
  • ◆In Undead Nightmare the glass eye is one of the rumored sources of the plague.
  • ◆Additionally, in the DLC, after John clears out the graveyards and returns to Seth, the latter swallows the glass eye.
