About this vehicle
The MTL Fire Truck is a two-seat fire engine in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online. Its body follows the Fire Truck seen in GTA IV, while its overall form is loosely based on Pierce and International fire apparatus. It wears a mainly red Los Santos Fire Department scheme with white and yellow lower stripes, identification markings including "Class 1", "32" and "36", amber roof and side lights, functional front emergency lights, and licence plates at both ends.
For a heavy truck, the Fire Truck accelerates more strongly and turns more readily than its GTA IV predecessor. Its higher-revving engine and low gearing make its responses easier to control, and its brakes are more effective. It no longer pushes other vehicles aside as easily, however. The truck uses a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout with a supercharged 24-valved engine and five-speed gearbox.
Los Santos Fire Department units respond to fires caused by the player, and a Fire Truck can also be requested through 911 by selecting Fire Dept. They appear at Paleto Bay, Davis, Rockford Hills, El Burro Heights and Fort Zancudo fire stations, near Los Santos International Airport Fire Station, and across from the rear of South Los Santos Medical Center. In enhanced GTA Online, Warstock Cache & Carry sells it for $3,295,000, with a $2,471,250 trade price after leading The Diamond Casino Heist or completing five consecutive firefighting missions. Trivia
- โThe "69" on the Firetruck's side is a pun to the sexual position "69".
- โThere is an FDLC placard behind the front doors with a memorial ribbon. This could be a reference to the 's equivalent of the 9/11 attacks.
- โHitting an occupied Fire Truck with an unarmed melee attack, including while riding a motorcycle in GTA Online, will cause the firemen on board to go aggro on the player. Before dismounting to fight, the driver will attack with the water cannon, while the passengers proceed to curse at and flip the player off.
- โIf a Fire Truck is commandeered by law enforcement or military personnel, the water cannon will be used by the driver in an attempt to stop the player.
- โSometimes, spraying pedestrians or their vehicles with the onboard water cannon will cause them to go aggro towards and chase the player. Continually doing this will result in a wanted level as will spraying law enforcement or military pedestrians/vehicles directly.
- โPassive Mode in GTA Online is disabled when entering the truck, as the water cannon is considered a weapon. This is also the case with the RCV.
