Jamie Gillis

Jamie Gillis is Mary Linton's younger brother and the son of Mr. Gillis. Before the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, he knows Arthur Morgan through Mary's engagement to him. Arthur teaches Jamie to ride and gets along with him more easily than with the rest of the Linton family. Jamie's father belittles him, leaving him with little confidence. He eventually leaves home and joins the Chelonians, a fanatical religious sect.

Mary writes to Arthur after losing contact with Jamie and asks him to bring her brother back. Arthur travels to the Chelonians' camp, where Jamie worships alongside the other followers. Arthur tries to persuade him to leave, whether by speaking calmly or forcing the issue. Jamie refuses to listen and rides away from the camp, insisting that Arthur leave him alone. Arthur follows him across the countryside.

Jamie's horse throws him and bolts, but Jamie still rejects Arthur's help. He admits that he wants to die, draws his Cattleman Revolver and raises it to his head. Arthur shoots the revolver from his hand before Jamie can fire. Frightened by what he has nearly done, Jamie accepts Arthur's intervention, thanks him and embraces him. Arthur tells him to see Mary.

Arthur accompanies Jamie to the train station in Valentine, where Mary is waiting. Jamie embraces his sister and tells her that he will return home. Mary and Jamie board the train together.
