Meredith Buckley lives with her mother, Etta Buckley, in Annesburg, New Hanover. While travelling by stagecoach toward Saint Denis with several other passengers, she is attacked and taken by the Murfree Brood. The gang brings the captives to Beaver Hollow. Meredith is held in a wooden cage as the Murfrees torment and kill the others, leaving her frightened and badly traumatised.
When Dutch van der Linde sends Arthur Morgan and Charles Smith into Beaver Hollow to remove the Murfree Brood and prepare it for the gang's next camp, they fight their way through the caves. At the bottom, they find Meredith confined in a small cage. She panics when Arthur and Charles approach, fearing that they mean to harm her too.
Arthur calms Meredith and tells her that they have come to get her out. After freeing her, he takes her from Beaver Hollow back to Annesburg. Etta is relieved to see her daughter alive and thanks Arthur, offering him money for bringing Meredith home. Meredith remains with her mother in Annesburg.
