Moira Calthorpe is a resident of Valentine in New Hanover. She is married to an unnamed man, but carries on a romantic affair with Valentine sheriff Curtis Malloy. Her connection to the story remains confined to the town and the sheriff's office, where the relationship between her and Malloy can be overheard rather than directly witnessed.
During Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan can hear Moira arguing with Malloy on the second floor of the Valentine's sheriff's office. She tells him that she wants to end their relationship and insults him when he resists. The argument is followed by sounds from inside the room that suggest Malloy is strangling her, while the confrontation itself remains out of sight.
Moira can also be encountered again in connection with "Good, Honest, Snake Oil", after Arthur brings Benedict Allbright to the sheriff's office. She may appear before or after the overheard argument. Her reappearance leaves the outcome of the assault uncertain, either because she survives it and continues seeing Malloy or because of an inconsistency in the encounter.
