Player notes
Vernon Farley becomes sheriff of Strawberry during 1899 after his predecessor, Hanley, dies. Hanley is killed in the Strawberry Massacre, and Farley is thereafter the town's only known sheriff. Based at the Strawberry Sheriff's Office, Farley represents the local law in Strawberry, a settlement in Big Valley within the Commonwealth of West Elizabeth. His part in the story is confined to the town's later bounty work.
After John Marston finishes Gainful Employment, Farley offers wanted posters at the sheriff's office. The notices concern Joshua Brown and Bart Cavanaugh, fugitives sought by Strawberry's law. John can bring Brown back alive and return Cavanaugh alive or dead. Farley receives the bounty targets on the town's behalf, handling the cases that remain available through the Strawberry Sheriff's Office.
After John has dealt with both bounties, Farley says Strawberry will not issue further wanted posters. The mayor has ordered an end to the notices because he believes they discourage tourists from visiting the town. Farley relays the decision from his office, and no more bounty posters are made available in Strawberry.
