The Count

The Count is Dutch van der Linde's horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. He is a Superior-class horse with an extra-small frame, Elite handling, speed and acceleration rated at 6, and health and stamina rated at 5. His sole coat is labelled "Albino" and has a Dominant White appearance. The game's use of "albino" reflects the period's misunderstanding of horse genetics; his colouring is more likely Dominant White or an extensive sabino grey.

The Count belongs to Dutch rather than being a horse sold by a stable or awarded for an activity. He stays at the Van der Linde gang's camp or close to Dutch, who has owned him since before the events of 1899 and shares a strong attachment with him. Charles Smith remarks on Dutch's bond with the horse, while Arthur Morgan's attempt to ride The Count ends almost at once when he is bucked off.

Throughout the story, The Count carries Dutch during the gang's flight from Blackwater, its stays at Colter, Horseshoe Overlook, Clemens Point, Shady Belle, Lakay and Beaver Hollow, and several of Dutch's rides and robberies. He obeys Dutch readily, though he can become restless when bumped into and does not readily accept Arthur as a rider. He is last seen carrying Dutch as Dutch escapes the Pinkertons during "Red Dead Redemption".
