Fire Bottle (RDR 2)

The Fire Bottle is a throwable projectile in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, based on the Molotov cocktail. It is a glass bottle of flammable spirits with a cloth fuse. When it strikes, it produces a large burst of fire and leaves the target area burning briefly. It is used to set stagecoaches alight or drive people and animals back. The Fire Bottle cannot be customized.

Arthur can craft a Fire Bottle while resting at camp, combining an alcoholic spirit with Animal Fat. Sean MacGuire provides Fire Bottles during "The Fine Joys of Tobacco", after which every fence sells them for $0.75. They can also be looted from enemies before that mission. Fully upgrading Arthur's Ammo Cart supplies two Fire Bottles. In Red Dead Online, all fences stock them from rank 24.

The Volatile Fire Bottle is a craftable variant that causes more damage over a wider impact area. Its recipe requires Animal Fat and Moonshine. The pamphlet is in a chest at an abandoned campsite in the burned forest northwest of Horseshoe Overlook, or becomes available from a fence after "Pouring Forth Oil III" or "Pouring Forth Oil IV".
