Benedict Allbright es un vendedor estadounidense de aceite de serpiente que opera en New Hanover. Recorre el estado ofreciendo una supuesta cura milagrosa, pero su medicina es falsa y se la culpa de varias muertes. Se ofrece una recompensa de $50 por capturarlo con vida. Después de que Uncle le cuenta a Arthur Morgan que hay trabajo de recompensas en Valentine, Arthur recoge el cartel de Allbright en la oficina del sheriff. Sheriff Malloy identifica al fugitivo y envía a Arthur tras él.
Arthur encuentra a Allbright junto a una hoguera, en un pequeño risco sobre el Dakota River, cerca de Cumberland Falls. Al comprender el peligro, Allbright oculta su identidad cuando Arthur se acerca. Arthur finge que su madre está enferma y pide comprar la cura. Allbright negocia encantado, con lo que confirma quién es, y Arthur saca su arma y le ordena rendirse. Allbright niega haber hecho nada malo y amenaza con saltar del risco. Pierde el equilibrio, pero Arthur lo atrapa antes de que caiga sobre las rocas.
Tras subirlo de nuevo, Arthur escucha cómo Allbright sigue proclamando su inocencia antes de que se lance al Dakota River. La corriente lo arrastra y él pide ayuda a Arthur. Arthur sigue la orilla, saca a Allbright del agua y lo ata. Luego lleva al prisionero de vuelta a Valentine y lo entrega a Sheriff Malloy. Allbright acaba en la cárcel del pueblo, donde sigue encerrado al menos hasta 1907.
Curiosidades
- ◆If Benedict is looted after being captured, Arthur will receive a bottle of miracle cure. Ironically, it is perfectly safe for him to consume.
- ◆If the player returns to the sheriff's office after the mission, Allbright will be sitting in his cell, and will sometimes curse the player for capturing him.
- ◆If the Killer Prostitute is arrested, Allbright will be moved to the other cell.
- ◆If the player goes to the red portion of the West Elizabeth's map with Allbright stowed on horseback, the whole area except Blackwater will be free to explore without any Pinkertons spawning. However, exploration into New Austin remains impossible, as the invisible sniper will still kill the player if they try to enter the territory.
- ◆During the Chapter 5 mission "Dear Uncle Tacitus", if the player heads to the saloon, they can see Allbright's poster on the wall, having replaced the one of Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister.
- ◆Another poster for Benedict can be found in the back room of the Valentine Doctor's Office, though it states he can be found frequenting the Valentine Oilfields. This is likely an earlier version of his bounty poster, as the very similar cut character Doc Wormwood was originally supposed to be found at the same location. Co-ordinates in the files show his original mission location near Cornwall Kerosene & Tar and animations suggest he was going to trip over a chicken crate.
- ◆After re-visiting the Valentine Sheriff's Office after capturing Allbright, Sheriff Malloy will tell the player that "Allbright was cursing them till his last" which suggests that Benedict was originally intended to be seen being hanged, however this cannot be seen. There also appears to be animations for the sheriff giving a speech at Allbright's hanging, further suggesting that this is the case.
