Benedict Allbright è un venditore americano di olio di serpente attivo nel New Hanover. Viaggia per lo stato vendendo una presunta cura miracolosa, anche se la sua medicina è contraffatta e ritenuta responsabile di alcune morti. Su di lui viene emessa una taglia di $50, che richiede di consegnarlo vivo. Dopo che Uncle dice ad Arthur Morgan che a Valentine è disponibile del lavoro da cacciatore di taglie, Arthur raccoglie il manifesto di Allbright dall'ufficio dello sceriffo. Sheriff Malloy identifica il ricercato e manda Arthur a cercarlo.
Arthur trova Allbright accanto a un falò su una piccola scogliera sopra il Dakota River, presso Cumberland Falls. Riconoscendo il pericolo, Allbright nasconde il proprio nome quando Arthur si avvicina. Arthur finge che sua madre sia malata e chiede di acquistare la cura. Allbright inizia con entusiasmo a contrattare, confermando la sua identità, e Arthur estrae l'arma ordinandogli di arrendersi. Allbright nega ogni colpa e minaccia di gettarsi dalla scogliera. Perde l'equilibrio, ma Arthur lo afferra prima che precipiti sulle rocce sottostanti.
Dopo che Arthur lo ha tirato di nuovo su, Allbright continua a protestare e si getta nel Dakota River. La corrente lo trascina presto via e lui chiede aiuto ad Arthur. Arthur segue la riva del fiume, tira Allbright fuori dall'acqua e lo lega. Riporta il prigioniero a Valentine e lo consegna a Sheriff Malloy. Allbright viene rinchiuso nella prigione cittadina, dove resta detenuto almeno fino al 1907.
Curiosità
- ◆If Benedict is looted after being captured, Arthur will receive a bottle of miracle cure. Ironically, it is perfectly safe for him to consume.
- ◆If the player returns to the sheriff's office after the mission, Allbright will be sitting in his cell, and will sometimes curse the player for capturing him.
- ◆If the Killer Prostitute is arrested, Allbright will be moved to the other cell.
- ◆If the player goes to the red portion of the West Elizabeth's map with Allbright stowed on horseback, the whole area except Blackwater will be free to explore without any Pinkertons spawning. However, exploration into New Austin remains impossible, as the invisible sniper will still kill the player if they try to enter the territory.
- ◆During the Chapter 5 mission "Dear Uncle Tacitus", if the player heads to the saloon, they can see Allbright's poster on the wall, having replaced the one of Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister.
- ◆Another poster for Benedict can be found in the back room of the Valentine Doctor's Office, though it states he can be found frequenting the Valentine Oilfields. This is likely an earlier version of his bounty poster, as the very similar cut character Doc Wormwood was originally supposed to be found at the same location. Co-ordinates in the files show his original mission location near Cornwall Kerosene & Tar and animations suggest he was going to trip over a chicken crate.
- ◆After re-visiting the Valentine Sheriff's Office after capturing Allbright, Sheriff Malloy will tell the player that "Allbright was cursing them till his last" which suggests that Benedict was originally intended to be seen being hanged, however this cannot be seen. There also appears to be animations for the sheriff giving a speech at Allbright's hanging, further suggesting that this is the case.
