Benedict Allbright é um vendedor americano de óleo de cobra que atua em New Hanover. Ele percorre o estado vendendo uma suposta cura milagrosa, mas seu remédio é falsificado e é responsabilizado por várias mortes. Uma recompensa de $50 é oferecida por sua captura, desde que seja levado vivo. Depois que Uncle conta a Arthur Morgan sobre o trabalho de caçador de recompensas em Valentine, Arthur pega o cartaz de Allbright no escritório do xerife. Sheriff Malloy identifica o procurado e manda Arthur atrás dele.
Arthur encontra Allbright junto a uma fogueira, num pequeno penhasco sobre o Dakota River, em Cumberland Falls. Percebendo o risco, Allbright esconde sua identidade quando Arthur se aproxima. Arthur finge que a mãe está doente e pede para comprar a cura. Allbright começa a negociar com entusiasmo, confirmando quem é, e Arthur saca a arma e exige que ele se renda. Allbright nega qualquer culpa e ameaça se jogar do penhasco. Ele perde o equilíbrio, mas Arthur o segura antes que caia sobre as pedras.
Depois de puxá-lo de volta, Arthur ouve Allbright continuar seus protestos antes de ele saltar para o Dakota River. A correnteza o arrasta, e ele pede ajuda a Arthur. Arthur segue pela margem, tira Allbright da água e o amarra. Então leva o prisioneiro de volta a Valentine e o entrega a Sheriff Malloy. Allbright é colocado na cadeia da cidade, onde continua preso até pelo menos 1907.
Curiosidades
- ◆If Benedict is looted after being captured, Arthur will receive a bottle of miracle cure. Ironically, it is perfectly safe for him to consume.
- ◆If the player returns to the sheriff's office after the mission, Allbright will be sitting in his cell, and will sometimes curse the player for capturing him.
- ◆If the Killer Prostitute is arrested, Allbright will be moved to the other cell.
- ◆If the player goes to the red portion of the West Elizabeth's map with Allbright stowed on horseback, the whole area except Blackwater will be free to explore without any Pinkertons spawning. However, exploration into New Austin remains impossible, as the invisible sniper will still kill the player if they try to enter the territory.
- ◆During the Chapter 5 mission "Dear Uncle Tacitus", if the player heads to the saloon, they can see Allbright's poster on the wall, having replaced the one of Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister.
- ◆Another poster for Benedict can be found in the back room of the Valentine Doctor's Office, though it states he can be found frequenting the Valentine Oilfields. This is likely an earlier version of his bounty poster, as the very similar cut character Doc Wormwood was originally supposed to be found at the same location. Co-ordinates in the files show his original mission location near Cornwall Kerosene & Tar and animations suggest he was going to trip over a chicken crate.
- ◆After re-visiting the Valentine Sheriff's Office after capturing Allbright, Sheriff Malloy will tell the player that "Allbright was cursing them till his last" which suggests that Benedict was originally intended to be seen being hanged, however this cannot be seen. There also appears to be animations for the sheriff giving a speech at Allbright's hanging, further suggesting that this is the case.
