After finding Jamie in Cumberland Forest with the Chelonian religious order, Arthur tries to convince him to return to Mary.

Arthur encuentra a Jamie entre los Chelonians en Cumberland Forest, donde los miembros de la orden se agrupan a su alrededor cuando Arthur pide hablar con él. Jamie se sorprende al verlo, pero sostiene que ha elegido su camino. El Chelonian Master se adelanta y afirma que Jamie ha encontrado seguridad con ellos. Arthur le explica que Mary está preocupada por su hermano y responde a la pregunta del Maestro sobre su propio camino. Si el Maestro le niega el paso, Arthur lo deja inconsciente para hablar con Jamie.
Jamie sigue rechazando la petición de Arthur y corre hacia su caballo. Arthur lo persigue por Cumberland Forest mientras Jamie huye, hasta que este cae y ambos quedan a lados opuestos de un tren que pasa entre ellos. Arthur le grita que se detenga. Cuando el tren se aleja, Jamie se lleva el revólver a la cabeza para suicidarse. Arthur desenfunda y dispara el arma de Jamie antes de que pueda apretar el gatillo.
Jamie acepta que se ha equivocado después de que Arthur lo salva. Arthur lo sube al caballo y cabalga con él por New Hanover hasta Valentine. Mary espera a su hermano en Valentine Station. Arthur lleva a Jamie hasta ella, y ambos se reúnen dentro de la estación.

Curiosidades
- ◆If the player shoots at one of the Chelonians, when Jamie flees, they will panic that one of their members has been slain and will jump off the cliff. However, this will lead to failing the mission.
- ◆Shooting at the cult members will also lower the player's honor.
- ◆After the player has saved Jamie, they can ride to Carmody Dell and visit Bob Crawford, who will comment on the events of the mission, "The Spines of America".
- ◆If the player attempts to choke the Chelonian Master with a knife equipped, the game will softlock in the cutscene as Arthur cannot complete the action.
- ◆Despite choking the Chelonian Master, the game still registers him as knocked out. This can not happen in normal gameplay.
- ◆When disarming Jamie, if the player has a Sawed-Off Shotgun as their sidearm, they will unwillingly kill Jamie and the mission will fail.
- ◆When riding into Valentine with Jamie, if the player strikes a pedestrian enough to make them hostile, Jamie will casually pull out his pistol and shoot the pedestrian dead. This will result in the player being wanted for murder, but if the player enters the cutscene in the train station, the wanted status will clear by the end of it, though lawmen can be seen running outside the building and peering through windows with guns drawn during the cutscene.
- ◆It is possible to duplicate any horse during this mission. To do so, start the mission with the horse you would like to duplicate. After you have Jamie on the back of your horse, wreck so that you and Jamie get dumped off. Immediately get back on the horse and ride off a ways, leaving Jamie behind. You can also just get off your horse, and when Jamie dismounts, get on and leave him behind. Jamie will catch up to you riding a duplicate of your horse. Before the mission ends, bond with the duplicate and make it your secondary horse.
