Chef est le cuisinier de crystal meth de Trevor Philips Enterprises, bien que son véritable nom ne soit jamais révélé. Il apparaît dans Grand Theft Auto V au laboratoire de meth de Trevor à Sandy Shores, où Trevor rencontre les Los Santos Triads. Après que l'affrontement précédent de Trevor avec Ortega a attiré les Aztecas au laboratoire, Chef prend les armes aux côtés de Trevor et aide à repousser les assaillants. Il travaille avec Trevor, Ron Jakowski et Wade Hebert dans le cadre des opérations de Trevor, et est doublé par Anthony Cumia.

Après Blitz Play, Chef contacte Trevor et lui propose ses services comme homme de main armé. Trevor peut le recruter pour The Paleto Score, où Chef rejoint Michael De Santa, Trevor et le reste de l'équipe pour le braquage de la Blaine County Savings Bank à Paleto Bay. Il se débrouille bien durant la fuite et survit au coup. Michael reconnaît ses compétences auprès de Trevor après que l'équipe s'est éloignée de la banque.

Chef peut également être engagé pour The Big Score. Dans l'approche subtile, il peut garder l'or durant le braquage de la Union Depository sans en perdre une once en tant que premier homme de main armé, ou travailler comme second homme de main armé sans causer de problèmes. Dans l'approche directe, il se montre fiable dans l'un ou l'autre rôle et, lorsqu'il est affecté comme second homme de main armé, aide l'équipe à combattre la police durant la fuite de Los Santos. Il reste en vie après les braquages.

Anecdotes

◆In the subtle approach of The Big Score, if he is placed as the first gunman, while he is loading the Gauntlets, he makes a little reference to the gold classification in the periodic table, saying, "Gold, Au, Atomic number: 79".
◆Chef probably believes Ron's conspiracy theory about lizard people taking the form of humans to work for the government as he shouts about the cops being lizard people if he is the second gunman for The Big Score - Obvious.
◆Unlike most of Trevor's associates, Chef doesn't seem to be afraid, or even intimidated by Trevor.
◆Chef will sometimes be found on the second floor of Liquor Ace outside of missions as a normal pedestrian. If interacted with, the player will use a default greeting. He can also be killed, but will always respawn.
◆He doesn't talk to the player in response, despite knowing Trevor.
◆Even though he's unlocked as a gunman from "The Paleto Score" onwards, he's not available to hire for The Bureau Raid, probably out of loyalty to Trevor.
◆Chef does not wear his glasses during heist missions.
◆Simply being known as Chef is maybe a reference to the character Phil "The Chef" Bushey from Stephen King's novel Under The Dome, as Bushey also cooks and samples his own batches of meth in the novel.
◆Chef is also very similar to from the / seasons of .
◆They are both the cooks in their respective meth empires while occasionally confronting the competition, which happen to both be Hispanic gangs (in Chef's case it was TPI and the Aztecas, while in Walter's it was and ).
◆Both associate themselves with violent sociopaths who help get their product out (In Chef's case it was Trevor, while in Walt's it was Tuco).
◆Both keep meth in RV's.
◆Both are also bald, wear glasses and have facial hair.
◆The main difference of the two is that Chef has done meth, while Walter only cooks.
◆If Trevor Philips Industries is replayed, Chef will always act as if Trevor spared Ortega in Mr. Philips, even if Trevor killed him in said mission.
◆When changing Chef's outfit in Director Mode, there exists a version of him wearing both the Bugstars exterminator outfit used in the smart approach for The Jewel Store Job and the firefighter outfit from the fire crew approach for The Bureau Raid, despite the fact that Chef cannot be selected as a gunman for either heist.
