Chef è il cuoco di crystal meth della Trevor Philips Enterprises, anche se il suo vero nome non viene mai rivelato. Fa il suo ingresso in Grand Theft Auto V nel laboratorio di meth di Trevor a Sandy Shores, dove Trevor incontra i Los Santos Triads. Dopo che il precedente confronto di Trevor con Ortega porta gli Aztecas al laboratorio, Chef prende le armi al fianco di Trevor e aiuta a respingere gli assalitori. Lavora con Trevor, Ron Jakowski e Wade Hebert nell'operazione di Trevor, ed è doppiato da Anthony Cumia.

Dopo Blitz Play, Chef contatta Trevor e offre i suoi servigi come tiratore. Trevor può reclutarlo per The Paleto Score, in cui Chef si unisce a Michael De Santa, Trevor e al resto della squadra per la rapina alla Blaine County Savings Bank di Paleto Bay. Se la cava durante la fuga e sopravvive al colpo. Dopo che la squadra si è allontanata dalla banca, Michael riconosce a Trevor le sue capacità.

Chef può essere ingaggiato anche per The Big Score. Nell'approccio discreto, può sorvegliare l'oro durante la rapina alla Union Depository senza perderne nemmeno una parte come primo tiratore, oppure lavorare come secondo tiratore senza creare problemi. Nell'approccio evidente, si dimostra affidabile in entrambi i ruoli da tiratore e, se assegnato come secondo tiratore, aiuta la squadra a combattere la polizia durante la fuga da Los Santos. Rimane vivo dopo le rapine.

◆In the subtle approach of The Big Score, if he is placed as the first gunman, while he is loading the Gauntlets, he makes a little reference to the gold classification in the periodic table, saying, "Gold, Au, Atomic number: 79".
◆Chef probably believes Ron's conspiracy theory about lizard people taking the form of humans to work for the government as he shouts about the cops being lizard people if he is the second gunman for The Big Score - Obvious.
◆Unlike most of Trevor's associates, Chef doesn't seem to be afraid, or even intimidated by Trevor.
◆Chef will sometimes be found on the second floor of Liquor Ace outside of missions as a normal pedestrian. If interacted with, the player will use a default greeting. He can also be killed, but will always respawn.
◆He doesn't talk to the player in response, despite knowing Trevor.
◆Even though he's unlocked as a gunman from "The Paleto Score" onwards, he's not available to hire for The Bureau Raid, probably out of loyalty to Trevor.
◆Chef does not wear his glasses during heist missions.
◆Simply being known as Chef is maybe a reference to the character Phil "The Chef" Bushey from Stephen King's novel Under The Dome, as Bushey also cooks and samples his own batches of meth in the novel.

◆They are both the cooks in their respective meth empires while occasionally confronting the competition, which happen to both be Hispanic gangs (in Chef's case it was TPI and the Aztecas, while in Walter's it was and ).
◆Both associate themselves with violent sociopaths who help get their product out (In Chef's case it was Trevor, while in Walt's it was Tuco).
◆Both keep meth in RV's.
