Solomon Richards est un producteur de cinéma de Vinewood et le propriétaire de Richards Majestic Productions, qu'il hérite de son père, David Richards, en 1978. Il commence comme producteur associé sur les films de son père avant de réaliser ses propres longs-métrages à succès commercial. En 2013, plusieurs échecs récents ont plongé le studio dans des difficultés financières. Solomon veut restaurer sa réputation et prendre sa retraite après avoir achevé un dernier film, Meltdown.

Devin Weston présente Solomon à Michael De Santa chez Richards Majestic Productions. Michael, admirateur du travail de Solomon, accepte d'aider à terminer Meltdown. Solomon explique que Rocco Pelosi a attiré l'acteur principal Milton McIlroy et le réalisateur Anton Beaudelaire dans son agence de management, avant d'exiger de l'argent pour leur retour. Michael confronte Rocco et fait pression sur Milton et Anton pour qu'ils reviennent sur la production.

Rocco et Gianni coincent plus tard Solomon au studio et le battent en exigeant un paiement. Michael les y surprend, les chasse du terrain et tue les deux hommes. Solomon termine Meltdown, mais Devin prévoit de fermer le studio pour toucher l'assurance et réaménager la propriété. Devin confie la copie analogique du film à Molly Schultz, qui s'enfuit vers Los Santos International Airport. Michael récupère la copie après la mort de Molly dans un réacteur d'avion, ignorant que Solomon a également réalisé des copies numériques de sauvegarde.

Solomon assiste à l'avant-première de Meltdown avec Michael, bien que Michael parte pour protéger sa famille de l'attaque de Merryweather organisée par Devin. Le film reçoit des critiques mitigées, mais attire un vaste public et devient le plus grand succès au box-office de Solomon. Après le braquage de Union Depository, Solomon appelle Michael pour lui demander s'il connaît quelqu'un qui pourrait financer un autre film. Michael l'invite à dîner pour en discuter.

Anecdotes

◆Richards appears to be based on Gene Hackman's character Harry Zimm from the 1995 movie Get Shorty; both have a dusty office filled with movie memorabilia, produce mostly science-fiction and horror B-movies, and become involved with criminals.
◆Michael De Santa can call Solomon after the completion of several missions. Solomon starts every phone call with a quote from one of his movies, Michael will then name the movie, and Solomon will ask how Michael is doing or tell him how the production of a movie is doing.
◆If called after Minor Turbulence, Solomon asks Michael if he has gone to rehab, since he just disappeared from the city, Michael replies that he needed to leave Los Santos for a while. Solomon thanks Michael for making Anton and Milton cooperate with the movie, saying that both of them have been working without complaining, and also says that Michael's help is essential to finish the movie, which leaves Michael very happy. Michael finishes the call saying that he will try to visit the studio as soon as possible.
◆If called after Monkey Business, he will use a phrase from the movie High School!, he also mentions that he is in Liberty City receiving a lifetime award.
◆If called after Meltdown, he will use a phrase from the movie Meltdown, Michael will not recognise the quote, but also mention that working for Solomon was the best thing that ever happened in his life.
◆If called after The Third Way, he will use a phrase from the movie Arthur Penny's Sanitorium. He will also ask Michael if he knows anyone who can fund their next movie, because the robbery at the Union Depository messed with their economy. Michael says that he "knows the perfect guy" and invites Solomon for dinner so they can talk more about it.
◆Sometimes when switching to Michael, he might be a block away from his house arguing with a restaurant bouncer and saying: "I don't know him, I work with him!" or coming out saying: "Great lunch, amigo!". This is a possible reference to Solomon.
◆His Los Santos Summer Special picture shows him wearing a wedding ring.
