À Beecher's Hope, Abigail se dispute avec Uncle à cause de son manque de travail. John défend l'utilité de Uncle du mieux qu'il peut, et Abigail décide qu'elle et John ont besoin de s'éloigner quelque temps du ranch. Avant leur départ, Duncan et Angus Geddes arrivent de Pronghorn Ranch avec des meubles pour les Marston. C'est un cadeau en échange de l'aide de John contre le Laramie Gang. John et Abigail l'acceptent avec reconnaissance, puis partent ensemble dans le chariot.
John conduit Abigail à travers Great Plains jusqu'à Blackwater, où ils laissent le chariot avant de se rendre à pied au Photo Studio de Benjamin P. Lockhart. Ils prennent la pose pour un portrait ensemble, dont le résultat amuse Abigail. Dehors, elle dit n'avoir jamais vu de film. John l'emmène de l'autre côté de la rue, à l'Imperial Theatre, où ils assistent ensemble à une projection de "Sketching for Sweetheart."
Après le spectacle, John et Abigail descendent vers le rivage. Ils empruntent un canoë et rament sur le lac tandis que le soir tombe sur Blackwater. John arrête l'embarcation loin de la rive, sort une bague et s'agenouille. Il demande Abigail en mariage. Surprise et heureuse, elle accepte, et ils s'embrassent dans le canoë.
Le lendemain matin, John laisse silencieusement Abigail dormir dans leur lit à Beecher's Hope. Il marche jusqu'à la clôture et regarde le soleil se lever sur le ranch.

Anecdotes
- ◆Abigail says she has never seen a film, and John reacts with incredulity. This is strange as cinema would have been unheard of in the West prior to their meeting in 1894, and since leaving the gang in 1899 they have spent almost every waking moment together, meaning that John would be well aware of this.
- ◆At the start of the mission, if John does not interfere in Uncle and Abigail's conversation, the game will make the player walk to them by itself.
- ◆Several aspects of this mission have similarities with Arthur Morgan's experiences:
- ◆John and Abigail going to the theater mirrors what Arthur and Mary Linton decide to do while they are together in Saint Denis. Also, when John gets the ring at the start, he is also holding a picture of young Arthur and Mary.
- ◆John saying "It would make me very happy" is very similar to Arthur's high-Honor line "It would mean a lot to me" when urging Marston to run and find his family during the mission "Red Dead Redemption" (if the player went with John). Incidentally, this mission is also based around John being with his family.
- ◆This mission ends with John on the ranch watching the sunrise, which is the final thing Arthur sees if he died with high Honor.
- ◆There is an unused cutscene for this mission where John and Abigail can be seen arriving at Beecher's Hope.
- ◆The mission icon features John with his NPC hair, which is impossible to use in-game.
