A Beecher's Hope, Abigail litiga con Uncle per la sua mancanza di impegno nel lavoro. John difende l'utilità di Uncle come meglio può, e Abigail decide che lei e John hanno bisogno di allontanarsi per un po' dal ranch. Prima che partano, Duncan e Angus Geddes arrivano da Pronghorn Ranch con dei mobili per i Marston. È un regalo in cambio dell'aiuto di John contro la Laramie Gang. John e Abigail lo accettano con gratitudine, poi partono insieme sul carro.
John conduce Abigail attraverso Great Plains fino a Blackwater, dove lasciano il carro e raggiungono a piedi il Photo Studio di Benjamin P. Lockhart. Posano insieme per un ritratto, e Abigail si diverte del risultato. Fuori, dice di non aver mai visto un film. John la porta dall'altra parte della strada all'Imperial Theatre, dove si siedono insieme per assistere alla proiezione di "Sketching for Sweetheart."
Dopo lo spettacolo, John e Abigail si dirigono verso la riva. Prendono in prestito una canoa e remano sul lago mentre la sera cala su Blackwater. John ferma l'imbarcazione lontano dalla riva, tira fuori un anello e si inginocchia. Chiede ad Abigail di sposarlo. Sorpresa e felice, lei accetta, e i due si baciano nella canoa.
La mattina seguente, John lascia silenziosamente Abigail a dormire nel loro letto a Beecher's Hope. Cammina fino alla staccionata e osserva il sole sorgere sul ranch.

Curiosità
- ◆Abigail says she has never seen a film, and John reacts with incredulity. This is strange as cinema would have been unheard of in the West prior to their meeting in 1894, and since leaving the gang in 1899 they have spent almost every waking moment together, meaning that John would be well aware of this.
- ◆At the start of the mission, if John does not interfere in Uncle and Abigail's conversation, the game will make the player walk to them by itself.
- ◆Several aspects of this mission have similarities with Arthur Morgan's experiences:
- ◆John and Abigail going to the theater mirrors what Arthur and Mary Linton decide to do while they are together in Saint Denis. Also, when John gets the ring at the start, he is also holding a picture of young Arthur and Mary.
- ◆John saying "It would make me very happy" is very similar to Arthur's high-Honor line "It would mean a lot to me" when urging Marston to run and find his family during the mission "Red Dead Redemption" (if the player went with John). Incidentally, this mission is also based around John being with his family.
- ◆This mission ends with John on the ranch watching the sunrise, which is the final thing Arthur sees if he died with high Honor.
- ◆There is an unused cutscene for this mission where John and Abigail can be seen arriving at Beecher's Hope.
- ◆The mission icon features John with his NPC hair, which is impossible to use in-game.
