Arthur revient de Guarma à bord d'un bateau avec Dutch van der Linde et les autres qui ont survécu à la traversée. Alors qu'ils approchent du continent face à Van Horn Trading Post, Dutch demande à Arthur de se rendre à Shady Belle pour découvrir ce qu'est devenue la bande. Arthur atteint la rive, prend un Hungarian Half-bred dans la rue et traverse seul Lemoyne à cheval en direction de leur ancien campement.
À Shady Belle, Arthur descend de cheval et entre dans la maison abandonnée. Dans une pièce du rez-de-chaussée, il trouve une lettre adressée à "Uncle Tacitus" et signée "Caroline", le nom que Sadie Adler utilise pour dissimuler son identité. Sadie lui apprend que la bande a quitté Shady Belle et attend à Lakay, une petite colonie des marais au nord de Saint Denis.
Des agents Pinkerton arrivent à Shady Belle à la recherche de la même piste de la bande de Van der Linde. Arthur sort de la maison, évitant les agents ou se frayant un chemin en les combattant, puis prend un cheval sur les lieux. Il suit les indications de Sadie à travers Bayou Nwa et atteint Lakay, où le reste de la bande se cache.
Anecdotes
- ◆The player can skip most of this mission by heading straight for Lakay instead of going to Shady Belle.
- ◆It is possible to save the Guarma outfit after the mission. The player must head to the general store during the mission, buy any hat and save it as a "custom outfit" along with the attire.
- ◆The song that plays in the background while Arthur is riding back to Shady Belle is an extended version of "Unshaken" by D'Angelo. The original version can be heard in The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Soundtrack.
- ◆If the player heads to the Old Light Saloon, the missing person poster of Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister posted outside of it will be replaced with the bounty poster for Benedict Allbright. This is one of the only times in the game when Allbright's poster can be observed on a wall, outside of his bounty hunting mission.
- ◆If Arthur waits long enough and doesn't read Sadie's letter, one of the Pinkerton agents can be seen and heard reading it.
- ◆Once Arthur returns from Guarma he will look underweight whether he has average or perfect weight. His eyes will also look red and have bags on them, indicating his future illness.
- ◆Arthur will have around $450 in his possession after returning from Guarma.
- ◆If the player wishes, they can steal one of the Pinkertons' horses to leave Shady Belle instead of their Hungarian Half-bred.
