Dutch van der Linde
Before they can rob the Saint Denis bank, Dutch convinces Arthur that they must kill Angelo Bronte. They visit Thomas, a local fisherman, to procure a skiff for the assault on Bronte's mansion.

Em Shady Belle, Arthur encontra Dutch e Hosea discutindo Angelo Bronte. Hosea rejeita a ideia de matar Bronte e considera a vingança uma loucura, mas Dutch afirma que Bronte precisa morrer antes que a gangue possa roubar o banco de Saint Denis. Arthur toma o lado de Dutch. Hosea avisa que Dutch vai condenar todos eles, e Dutch chama Arthur para cavalgar até Lagras e conseguir um barco que permita chegar à mansão de Bronte.
Durante a viagem por Bayou Nwa, Arthur pergunta se Dutch quer matar Bronte pelo roubo ao banco ou por vingança pelo caso da estação de bonde. Dutch diz que essa distinção não importa e cobra mais confiança de Arthur, alegando que Micah é o único que ainda lhe é leal. Arthur responde que o segue há vinte anos e continua ao seu lado. Em Lagras, Thomas aceita ceder um skiff, mas antes leva os dois para verificar armadilhas de lagostim e procurar Jules, seu parceiro.
Thomas manda Arthur e Dutch procurarem Jules, que Arthur encontra preso numa árvore sobre o pântano. Jules diz que um monstro o encurralou ali. Arthur solta o skiff debaixo de um galho caído, e o grupo parte, mas a embarcação fica presa. Jules entra na água para soltá-la, quando um Bullgator o puxa para baixo. Arthur o resgata e o leva de volta ao skiff enquanto Dutch atira no animal. Arthur faz um curativo na perna de Jules durante a volta a Lagras, onde homens do vilarejo o carregam. Dutch sai para reunir a gangue e manda Arthur encontrá-los na vila.
Curiosidades
- ◆As shown in pre-release screenshots, Bill was originally intended to appear in the mission rather than Dutch.
- ◆During the opening cutscene, when Arthur agrees to go with Dutch's plan of going after Bronte, Hosea warns Dutch by saying, "You'll damn us all..." a line Arthur later remembers during his final ride to camp in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission if his Honor is low. This line also foreshadows the Van der Linde gang's eventual demise.
- ◆If Arthur has low honor and goes back for the money in "Red Dead Redemption," he says something similar when trying to convince Dutch that Micah had betrayed them to the Pinkertons and reminding Dutch of his failure to stop Micah from ruining the gang.
- ◆If Arthur takes too long to initiate the mission after returning to camp, Dutch will become agitated and scream at Arthur to get to the balcony.
- ◆If Arthur doesn't check the crayfish traps with Thomas, Dutch will apologize for it.
- ◆If the player does not shoot the Bullgator enough times or not at all, it will grab Dutch in its jaws and drag him into the water, failing the mission.
- ◆If the player doesn't quickly bandage Jules after the alligator attack, a unique cutscene plays where Jules bleeds out and dies in the boat.
