Dutch van der Linde
Before they can rob the Saint Denis bank, Dutch convinces Arthur that they must kill Angelo Bronte. They visit Thomas, a local fisherman, to procure a skiff for the assault on Bronte's mansion.

En Shady Belle, Arthur encuentra a Dutch y Hosea discutiendo por Angelo Bronte. Hosea se opone a matar a Bronte y considera insensata la venganza, pero Dutch sostiene que Bronte debe morir antes de que la banda pueda robar el banco de Saint Denis. Arthur apoya a Dutch. Hosea le advierte que condenará a todos, y Dutch pide a Arthur que cabalgue con él hasta Lagras para conseguir una embarcación desde la que puedan acercarse a la mansión de Bronte.
Mientras cruzan Bayou Nwa, Arthur pregunta si Dutch persigue a Bronte por el golpe al banco o por venganza tras lo ocurrido en la estación de tranvías. Dutch no acepta distinguir entre ambas cosas y exige más confianza, diciendo que Micah es el único que sigue siendo leal. Arthur le recuerda que lleva veinte años siguiéndolo y que continúa a su lado. En Lagras, Thomas acepta prestarles un skiff, aunque primero los lleva a revisar sus trampas para cangrejos de río y a buscar a su socio Jules.
Thomas envía a Arthur y Dutch a buscar a Jules, al que Arthur encuentra refugiado en un árbol sobre el pantano. Jules asegura que un monstruo lo ha acorralado. Arthur libera el skiff de una rama caída y los hombres emprenden el regreso, pero la embarcación queda atascada. Jules baja al agua para soltarla y un Bullgator lo arrastra bajo la superficie. Arthur lo rescata y lo devuelve al skiff mientras Dutch dispara al animal. Arthur venda la pierna herida de Jules durante el regreso a Lagras, donde unos vecinos se lo llevan. Dutch parte a reunir a la banda y le dice a Arthur que se reúna con ellos en el poblado.

- ◆As shown in pre-release screenshots, Bill was originally intended to appear in the mission rather than Dutch.
- ◆During the opening cutscene, when Arthur agrees to go with Dutch's plan of going after Bronte, Hosea warns Dutch by saying, "You'll damn us all..." a line Arthur later remembers during his final ride to camp in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission if his Honor is low. This line also foreshadows the Van der Linde gang's eventual demise.
- ◆If Arthur has low honor and goes back for the money in "Red Dead Redemption," he says something similar when trying to convince Dutch that Micah had betrayed them to the Pinkertons and reminding Dutch of his failure to stop Micah from ruining the gang.
- ◆If Arthur takes too long to initiate the mission after returning to camp, Dutch will become agitated and scream at Arthur to get to the balcony.
- ◆If Arthur doesn't check the crayfish traps with Thomas, Dutch will apologize for it.
- ◆If the player does not shoot the Bullgator enough times or not at all, it will grab Dutch in its jaws and drag him into the water, failing the mission.
- ◆If the player doesn't quickly bandage Jules after the alligator attack, a unique cutscene plays where Jules bleeds out and dies in the boat.
