Ammu-Nation Shooting Ranges
Counts 6 times toward the 42 hobbies and pastimes
Player notes
After "Franklin and Lamar", Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips can visit the shooting ranges inside the Ammu-Nation stores in Cypress Flats and Pillbox Hill. Each pays the range fee, enters the protected firing lane and chooses a weapon class. The regular programme is divided into Handguns, Submachine Guns, Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Light Machine Guns and Heavy Weapons, with several firearms available in most classes.
A session begins with the chosen weapon and a target course. Some courses present static silhouettes that disappear after being hit, while others send targets moving, flipping or appearing at different heights. Rifle, machine gun and Heavy courses can require repeated hits, and sustained fire can build a multiplier in the Heavy challenges. Points accumulate as the course runs, then determine whether the protagonist receives a Bronze, Silver or Gold medal.
Michael, Franklin and Trevor each shoot their own courses and earn medals separately. Michael can use his special ability while firing at the range. Returning players can also access the Bonus programme, which uses the Railgun against stationary and moving target arrangements. The activity ends when the selected challenge is over, with the protagonist still inside the Ammu-Nation range in Cypress Flats or Pillbox Hill.
Trivia
- ◆Rarely, the player may gain a wanted level on the Bonus level, likely due to the explosions from the Railgun.
