Player notes
After recovering all 30 Submarine Pieces, Michael returns to Abigail Mathers at the Sonar Collections Dock in Paleto Cove. Abigail thanks him for finishing the search, but Michael presses her about Frank Mathers' death and the possibility that the submarine's airlocks were sabotaged. Abigail attributes the damage to ordinary wear, then becomes uneasy when Michael mentions a message on one of the pieces saying that someone tampered with the airlocks.
Abigail claims Frank's ex-wife could have written the message, calling her bitter, but Michael remains suspicious. Abigail agrees that the situation is strange and nervously suggests that the police may be involved, bringing up the FIB. She starts to leave the dock before Michael reminds her that he has not been paid for his work.
Abigail gives Michael $10 and an autographed photograph of Frank. Michael throws the photograph into the sea. Abigail walks away toward the parking area, and Michael is left to decide whether she leaves Paleto Cove alive or dies at the dock.
Trivia
- โThe $10 received for completing this mission is the lowest monetary reward in the entire series. Furthermore, the 'Earned from Strangers and Freaks' stat under the Cash section of the statistics does not acknowledge the award.
- โMichael's private car will spawn on the dock during this mission. This is likely a glitch, because the car will be stranded here, unless you conveniently have a Cargobob to get it out.
- โWhen the player approaches the dock before triggering the mission, Abigail's Asea is locked. If the player kills her while she leaves but before she gets into the car, it will be unlocked and free to take. This mission is one of the rare appearances of said vehicle in the original version of the game (Xbox 360 & PS3).
- โAlthough the submarine pieces can be collected by any protagonist, this mission is exclusive to Michael.
- โWhen the mission ends, there will be instructions on screen to view mission completion details. This function is glitched and the instructions have no effect.
- โThis mission is not listed on the Grand Theft Auto V Checklist found on the Rockstar Games website.
