Bus (HD Universe)

The Brute Bus is a Service-class transit bus in Grand Theft Auto V. It carries over the general form of the GTA IV Bus, but uses a longer body and wheelbase with a smaller roof extension. Its styling draws on the New Flyer D40-LFW and the CompoBus, while the rear takes cues from the GMC RTS. Los Santos Transit markings identify it as a city vehicle, with "DOWNTOWN" displayed above the windscreen.

The Bus appears around Los Santos and also spawns in Paleto Bay. It has a white lower section and can appear in four colour schemes based on Los Angeles Metro buses, including red, orange, blue and teal variants. The Bus is priced at $500,000. Its detailed cabin is accompanied by a civilian radio, and despite its size it carries four occupants.

The Bus retains much of the durability and pushing power of its GTA IV counterpart, and its improved acceleration lets it build speed more readily. Its top speed is average, it struggles on hills, and its large body can make braking unreliable at speed. It withstands collisions well but its broad windows leave occupants exposed to gunfire. In "Into The Ocean", a blue Bus carries the player on its roof after being kicked, then drives through traffic, out into the country and into the ocean.
