Mrs. Londonderry

Mrs. Londonderry is the widow of Arthur Londonderry and lives with their unnamed son near Sawbone Clearing, in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover. Arthur had borrowed money from Leopold Strauss, as well as from other creditors. When he dies, the unpaid debts fall to Mrs. Londonderry, leaving her responsible for a loan she did not take out.

Arthur Morgan first goes looking for Arthur Londonderry in the Annesburg mine on Strauss' behalf. A foreman tells him that Londonderry is dead. With no debtor to confront at the mine, Arthur follows the debt to the Londonderry home around Sawbone Clearing, where Mrs. Londonderry and her son are left to deal with the consequences of her husband's death.

Mrs. Londonderry tells Arthur that the family has nothing. She angrily explains that her husband worked himself to death while trying to repay Strauss' loan, and condemns Arthur for coming to demand more from them. Arthur sees the family's condition and abandons the debt. He may also leave Mrs. Londonderry some money before departing.

The encounter stays with Arthur alongside his dealings with J. John Weathers and Strauss' other debtors. When Arthur next speaks with Strauss at camp, he drives him out of the Van der Linde gang. Mrs. Londonderry remains with her son near Sawbone Clearing after Arthur releases them from the debt.
