Before 1899, Tom joins Colm O'Driscoll's gang and becomes one of the O'Driscoll Boys. Known as Fat Tommy, he is a large, bearded outlaw. He remains with the gang through its conflict with Dutch van der Linde's people, though little is shown of him before the gang's attack on the Adler homestead in the Grizzlies.
In May 1899, Tom rides with Billy and other O'Driscolls to Jake and Sadie Adler's home. During the raid, Tom kills Jake. Sadie escapes by hiding in the cellar while the gang occupies the house. Tom leaves the homestead before Dutch, Micah and Arthur arrive, leaving Sadie alive amid the wreckage of her home and marriage.
After Colm is hanged in Saint Denis, Tom takes charge of the O'Driscolls who remain. He is at Hanging Dog Ranch when Arthur Morgan and Sadie attack the gang there. Arthur clears the men in the barn, then finds Sadie upstairs in the ranch house. She repeatedly stabs Tom to avenge Jake, killing the last O'Driscoll Boy at Hanging Dog Ranch.
Trivia
- โHow Sadie learned Tom was Jake's assailant is unclear, as she hid in the cellar to avoid the assault, and it's never specified if she was able to get a discreet view of the murder, though considering the fact she's aware of Jake's demise without Dutch, Micah or Arthur informing her, and was aware of the appearance of the assassin, this is likely the case.
- โFurthermore, before killing Tom, she exclaims "I told you you'd see me again" meaning she most likely encountered Tom and said this phrase once to him either before or after Jake's murder.
