About this weapon
The Mauser Pistol is a German import sold as the Mühlberg Mauser, a modern semi-automatic pistol in the Pistol class. It carries ten rounds and uses Pistol Ammo, with Regular, High Velocity, Split Point, Express and Explosive loads available. Ammunition can be carried up to 100 rounds.
Its damage is low compared with the force of other handguns, but it fires rapidly and reloads quickly. The ten-round capacity supports sustained close-range fighting, particularly when several enemies close in at once. The game positions it as a fast-firing sidearm rather than a heavy-hitting pistol.
After "That's Murfree Country", the Mauser Pistol is sold for $250 by the Gunsmiths in Valentine and Saint Denis. John Marston can also take one after Angelo Bronte throws it to him during "Revenge is a Dish Best Eaten", while Guido Martelli's four henchmen carry them in "Bare Knuckle Friendships". In Red Dead Online, it is available to buy at Rank 34, and the Ibarra variant is included with the Outlaw Pass.

- ◆The Mauser Pistol is a nearly exact recreation of the real-life Mauser C96 pistol which entered production in 1896.
- ◆Despite the Mauser Pistol only being available fairly late in the game, the player can obtain a custom version of this weapon, namely Midnight's Pistol, as early as the second chapter, therefore making this version paradoxically less common than the unique version.
- ◆At $600.00, it is the most expensive weapon for purchase on Red Dead Online.
- ◆The Mauser Pistol is one of two pistols not reloaded through a magazine, instead using stripper clips.
