El Truffade Z-Type es un gran turismo biplaza de Sports Classics, concebido como un cupé de dos puertas de los años treinta. Su capó alargado, carrocería curvada y guardabarros prominentes rodean una parrilla cromada con faros circulares. La zaga redondeada lleva otro par de luces y un compartimento para la rueda de repuesto. El habitáculo incorpora paneles de madera, puertas con remates de cuero e instrumentos rodeados de acero. Su diseño toma rasgos de varios coches de lujo de época, y se dice que solo se fabricaron diez.
El V12 delantero central, la caja de cuatro velocidades y la tracción trasera dan al Z-Type un rendimiento sobresaliente en línea recta. Es el Sports Classics más rápido y fue el coche más veloz disponible cuando se lanzó Grand Theft Auto V, por delante del Monroe y el Adder. Acelera con suavidad y se abre paso con facilidad entre tráfico ligero, pero la suspensión blanda y el reparto de peso deficiente perjudican el paso por curva a gran velocidad. La parte trasera puede descolgarse sin aviso, y corregir el sobreviraje resulta complicado, por lo que no encaja bien en carreras de Sports Classics.
En Grand Theft Auto V, Legendary Motorsport vende el Z-Type por $10,000,000. También puede obtenerse uno durante Eye in the Sky, conservarse tras dejarlo en 3671 Whispymound Drive y recuperarse en el LSPD Auto Impound por $250. Aparece en Eye in the Sky y Pack Man. En Grand Theft Auto Online, Legendary Motorsport lo ofrece por $950,000, y versiones modificadas pueden aparecer al buscar vehículos para Vehicle Cargo o solicitarse mediante Exotic Exports.
Curiosidades
- ◆A Zaibatsu member can be seen driving the Z-Type in the introduction scene at the Residential District, to run over a Redneck member. The player can pick up the pistol from Scientists gang member corpse and shoot the Redneck - only if Police Officer is out of sight. Then he has to go west in order to check if the Z-Type is still parked and collect it. In the Dreamcast port, this Z-Type is given a unique gold paintjob.
- ◆A part of the Legendary Motorsport description of the Z-Type, "the Z-Type is a car you can really enjoy sitting in, surrounded by armed guards, too terrified to actually drive it anywhere", may be a reference to the armed Zaibatsu Corporation operatives (a.k.a. the Z-Men) from Grand Theft Auto 2.
- ◆This vehicle may spawn with a horn that is only present on a select few vehicles, the others being the Överflöd Entity XF, Grotti Cheetah, Dewbauchee JB 700, Enus Stafford and the Enus Paragon R (Armored).
- ◆The Z-Type is one of the oldest cars in Grand Theft Auto V, along with the Hotknife, Duneloader, Rat-Loader, Roosevelt and the old Tractor.
- ◆If given the right paint job (and possibly the right crew emblem) from Los Santos Customs, it will resemble the Zaibatsu Z-Type from GTA 2.
