El Rocket Launcher es un arma pesada de Shrewsbury, también conocida como RPG, que dispara un cohete cada vez. Su diseño sigue el estilo del RPG-7 ruso que inspira a la mayoría de las versiones del arma en el HD Universe. En Grand Theft Auto V cuenta con un cuerpo más estilizado, una almohadilla para el hombro en la parte trasera y una salida de explosión hexagonal. La versión Enhanced incorpora una mira frontal tomada de otro diseño de arma.
El cohete avanza hasta golpear algo o llegar a su alcance máximo, momento en que detona. El lanzador tiene poca precisión y una cadencia lenta, pero su potencia explosiva es muy alta. La explosión puede matar a peatones cercanos y destruir vehículos con rapidez, incluidos los helicópteros, y un impacto directo resulta aún más destructivo. En Grand Theft Auto V, los cohetes no se desvían al golpear una superficie.
El Rocket Launcher está disponible tras Blitz Play y se compra en Ammu-Nation por $15,000. Trevor puede conseguir uno durante Blitz Play, y Franklin puede quitarle uno a Elwood O'Neil en Predator. También aparece en NOOSE Headquarters, Los Santos International Airport, Miriam Turner Overpass, Altruist Camp, pecios submarinos y el Cargo Plane hundido en el Alamo Sea. - ◆In the BradyGames Guide for GTA V, the RPG was said to have an optional grip attachment. However, it is not present in the final game.
- ◆In GTA V, during The Big Score (obvious approach), Lester Crest calls the RPG the "noob tube". In popular FPS series such as Call of Duty, "noob tube" is a slang term usually used for a grenade launcher and the fact they are easy to take out an enemy. This is a reference to Lester's gaming habit.
- ◆In the enhanced version of GTA V, there is a writing on the side of the barrel that reads "Do not aim at pets or feet!"
- ◆The "aiming at feet" reference is to the Quake video game series having the unique ability to "rocket jump" which allows the user to propel themselves a great amount of distance with the rocket's blast.
- ◆The "aiming at pets" may be a reference to players using it to kill Chop, who can only be killed by the player by using explosives or by running over him with a vehicle.
- ◆After the Heists update for GTA Online, the RPG looks noticeably different in first-person; the player holds the weapon at a lower angle.
