Notas del jugador
El Donkey es el burro común, basado en Equus africanus asinus. Es un animal que se puede montar y atar en Red Dead Redemption 2 y Red Dead Online. Más pequeño y lento que un caballo, rinde peor que estos en velocidad y tamaño. No puede llevar silla ni guardarse en un establo, por lo que queda como una montura temporal y no como un caballo que el jugador pueda conservar.
En Lemoyne, los burros aparecen en Rhodes y Hill Haven Ranch. Red Dead Online también los sitúa en Carmody Dell y Flatneck Station, en New Hanover. Puede aparecer un burro en Watson's Cabin durante un encuentro aleatorio en el norte de Big Valley, West Elizabeth. En Guarma, dos ocupan salientes separados de Aguasdulces, y un hombre con poncho monta uno cerca de Manicato. También hay burros en New Austin.
El animal puede atarse y montarse, y puede venderse a un Horse Fence. Durante "A Kind and Benevolent Despot", un burro arrastra a Javier Escuella. En los encuentros aleatorios de Red Dead Online, el Danger Seeker y el Fame Seeker montan burros. Cerca de Annesburg, también puede verse en raras ocasiones a un hombre montando uno. Los burros no proporcionan loot.

- ◆Donkeys sell for zero cents at the horse fence. Upon selling a Donkey, Clay Davies will remark that Clive Davies likes Donkeys because he can bond with them.
- ◆The Donkey's health core always displays as a red heart, which normally represents a depleted health core.
- ◆The Donkey can be spawned using cheat code "You want something new". It will have a half-full health core as opposed to the normal very low.
- ◆In the preview photo for "A Kind and Benevolent Despot", the Donkey that is seen is far bigger than the one used in the final game, possibly implying they were originally meant to be closer to the size of the Mules in Red Dead Redemption.
- ◆Incidentally, the donkey is erroneously referred to as a mule in this mission.
- ◆In the 1.00 version of the game, donkeys had modeled fur. This was later removed in an update for the game.
- ◆Unlike other domesticated animals, donkeys do not have any breeds, and are all called 'Standard Donkey'. There are many recognized donkey breeds in Africa, Europe and Asia, but in the Americas most donkey are mixed breeds.
