Il Donkey è l'asino Standard, basato su Equus africanus asinus. È un animale cavalcabile e legabile in Red Dead Redemption 2 e Red Dead Online. Più piccolo e lento dei cavalli, offre prestazioni inferiori in termini di velocità e dimensioni. Non può essere equipaggiato con una sella né tenuto in una stalla, quindi resta una cavalcatura temporanea anziché un cavallo che il giocatore può mantenere.
In Lemoyne, gli asini compaiono a Rhodes e presso Hill Haven Ranch. Red Dead Online li colloca anche a Carmody Dell e Flatneck Station, in New Hanover. Un asino può comparire a Watson's Cabin durante un incontro casuale nel nord di Big Valley, West Elizabeth. In Guarma, due asini occupano sporgenze separate ad Aguasdulces, mentre un uomo in poncho ne cavalca uno vicino a Manicato. Gli asini compaiono anche in New Austin.
L'animale può essere legato e cavalcato, oltre a poter essere venduto a un Horse Fence. Durante "A Kind and Benevolent Despot", un asino trascina Javier Escuella. Negli incontri casuali di Red Dead Online, il Danger Seeker e il Fame Seeker cavalcano asini. Vicino ad Annesburg, può anche capitare raramente di vedere un uomo cavalcarne uno. Gli asini non forniscono bottino.

- ◆In the 1.00 version of the game, donkeys had modeled fur. This was later removed in an update for the game.
