La Del Lobo Gang reúne sobre todo a forajidos, exiliados y oportunistas mexicanos, aunque también cuenta con estadounidenses entre sus filas. El resentimiento que deja la Guerra México-Estadounidense alimenta su hostilidad hacia el gobierno de Estados Unidos. La banda asola New Austin desde Thieves' Landing, su base principal, y mantiene escondites en Fort Mercer, Twin Rocks, Gaptooth Breach y Solomon's Folly. Roba, extorsiona y mata, mientras la epidemia de cólera deja gran parte de la región con escasa presencia de la ley.
En 1898, el marshal Tom Davies envía al protagonista de Red Dead Online y a Lee a Tall Trees tras Alfredo Montez. El grupo encuentra y mata a Jorge Montez, hermano de Alfredo, al confundirlo con el objetivo. Otros enfrentamientos con Del Lobos en Van Horn Trading Post y en un campamento cercano llevan a la captura de Alfredo cerca de Butcher Creek. Lo encierran en Valentine, donde Davies lo ejecuta sin juicio antes de que la banda pueda liberarlo. El protagonista, Davies, el sheriff Curtis Malloy y los vecinos de Valentine rechazan el asalto, y después rescatan a Davies y al sheriff Sam Freeman de los Del Lobos en Tumbleweed.
Carmela "La Muñeca" Montez asume el mando tras la muerte de Alfredo. Se oculta con sus hombres en Hanging Dog Ranch, mientras Barbarella Alcazar acampa con otros miembros de la banda en Gaptooth Breach. Ambas pasan a ser objetivos de recompensa del protagonista de Red Dead Online. En 1899, Arthur Morgan, o John Marston, encuentra a Flaco Hernández y a sus seguidores Del Lobo en Cairn Lodge, Ambarino, mientras busca a los pistoleros. Tras el tiroteo, Flaco reta a Arthur o John a un duelo y muere.
En 1907, Sadie Adler y John capturan a Ramón Cortez y lo llevan a la oficina del sheriff de Scarlett Meadows, en Rhodes. Los Del Lobos lo liberan, pero Sadie y John persiguen a la banda, matan a quienes lo rescataron y vuelven a detener a Ramón. Más tarde, John puede capturar o matar a Esteban Cortez, hermano de Ramón y líder de la banda, y capturar a Joaquín Arroyo. En 1911, los Del Lobos ya no ocupan su antiguo territorio en el sur de Estados Unidos ni en el norte de México.

- ◆In Red Dead Online, the online protagonist can interact with the Del Lobo NPCs in free roam as long as the player does not attack them.
- ◆The Del Lobo Gang in several respects resembles the real-life Five Joaquins Gang. Similarly, it was perceived to have been led by predominantly Mexico-born men who were family members.
- ◆Del Lobo means 'of the wolf' in Spanish.
- ◆They share the name with Del Lobo Rock, a natural land formation.
- ◆A newspaper article mentions how Del Lobos terrorize Valentine and Strawberry. While they can be seen assaulting Valentine in Red Dead Online during the story mission "Bring a Goddamn Posse", members of the gang can not be encountered near Strawberry.
- ◆The Del Lobos are the most widespread gang featured in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Online, as they appear to have a presence in all five states. They are most common in New Austin, but also appear in Ambarino (in "The Noblest of Men, and a Woman"), Lemoyne (in "A Quick Favor for an Old Friend"), West Elizabeth (in "Where Your Morals Lead You"), and New Hanover (in "Highly Illegal And Highly Moral" and "Bring a Goddamn Posse").
- ◆Following Update 1.15, the Del Lobos became the gang with the highest number of hideouts (4 in total; 5 with the Ultimate/Special Edition).
- ◆A random conversation can be heard between Del Lobo members where some of them are thinking of heading back to Mexico and possibly working for the army, while some would opt to stay in the US.
- ◆The group of Del Lobos that the player encounters east and south of Armadillo have custom handguns and rifles with gold plated parts, ebony grips and expensive varnishes.
- ◆The Del Lobos are the only group of NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2 known to throw dynamite and fire bottles at the player. These weapons can also be looted from their corpses.
- ◆After clearing out Thieves Landing a couple of times, and returning when the Del Lobos present, the player can eavesdrop on the members grieving for the loss of their comrades, putting the blame on an unseen group of New Austin vigilantes and an unnamed cowboy.
