Le Del Lobo Gang est une bande composée surtout de hors-la-loi mexicains, d'exilés et d'opportunistes, bien que des Américains chevauchent aussi à leurs côtés. Le ressentiment laissé par la Mexican-American War nourrit leur hostilité envers le gouvernement des États-Unis. Ils sévissent dans New Austin depuis Thieves' Landing, leur principale base, et possèdent des repaires à Fort Mercer, Twin Rocks, Gaptooth Breach et Solomon's Folly. Leurs activités comprennent le vol, l'extorsion et le meurtre, tandis que la faiblesse des forces de l'ordre durant l'épidémie de choléra laisse une grande partie de la région sans défense.
En 1898, Marshal Tom Davies envoie le protagoniste d'Online et Lee dans Tall Trees à la recherche d'Alfredo Montez. Le groupe trouve et tue Jorge Montez à la place, prenant le frère d'Alfredo pour leur cible. De nouveaux affrontements avec les Del Lobos à Van Horn Trading Post et dans un camp voisin mènent à la capture d'Alfredo près de Butcher Creek. Il est détenu à Valentine, où Davies l'exécute sans procès avant que le gang puisse le libérer. Le protagoniste, Davies, Sheriff Curtis Malloy et les habitants de Valentine repoussent le raid, puis sauvent Davies et Sheriff Sam Freeman des Del Lobos à Tumbleweed.
Carmela "La Muñeca" Montez prend le commandement après la mort d'Alfredo. Elle se cache avec ses partisans à Hanging Dog Ranch, tandis que Barbarella Alcazar campe avec des membres du gang à Gaptooth Breach. Toutes deux deviennent des cibles de prime pour le protagoniste d'Online. En 1899, Arthur Morgan, ou John Marston, rencontre Flaco Hernández et ses partisans Del Lobo à Cairn Lodge, dans Ambarino, alors qu'il recherche des tireurs d'élite. Après la fusillade, Flaco affronte Arthur ou John en duel et meurt.
En 1907, Sadie Adler et John capturent Ramón Cortez et le conduisent au Scarlett Meadows Sheriff's Office de Rhodes. Les Del Lobos le libèrent, mais Sadie et John poursuivent le gang, tuent les sauveteurs et ramènent Ramón en détention. John peut ensuite livrer ou tuer le frère de Ramón et chef du gang, Esteban Cortez, et peut capturer Joaquín Arroyo. - ◆A newspaper article mentions how Del Lobos terrorize Valentine and Strawberry. While they can be seen assaulting Valentine in Red Dead Online during the story mission "Bring a Goddamn Posse", members of the gang can not be encountered near Strawberry.
- ◆The Del Lobos are the most widespread gang featured in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Online, as they appear to have a presence in all five states. They are most common in New Austin, but also appear in Ambarino (in "The Noblest of Men, and a Woman"), Lemoyne (in "A Quick Favor for an Old Friend"), West Elizabeth (in "Where Your Morals Lead You"), and New Hanover (in "Highly Illegal And Highly Moral" and "Bring a Goddamn Posse").
- ◆Following Update 1.15, the Del Lobos became the gang with the highest number of hideouts (4 in total; 5 with the Ultimate/Special Edition).
- ◆A random conversation can be heard between Del Lobo members where some of them are thinking of heading back to Mexico and possibly working for the army, while some would opt to stay in the US.
- ◆The group of Del Lobos that the player encounters east and south of Armadillo have custom handguns and rifles with gold plated parts, ebony grips and expensive varnishes.
- ◆The Del Lobos are the only group of NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2 known to throw dynamite and fire bottles at the player. These weapons can also be looted from their corpses.
- ◆After clearing out Thieves Landing a couple of times, and returning when the Del Lobos present, the player can eavesdrop on the members grieving for the loss of their comrades, putting the blame on an unseen group of New Austin vigilantes and an unnamed cowboy.
