La Gatling Gun es un arma de fuego rápido de los primeros tiempos y precursora de la ametralladora moderna. En Red Dead Redemption 2 aparece montada, no como un arma que pueda llevar un personaje. Su tipo de munición no figura por separado y el arma permanece fija en el lugar donde está instalada.
Solo hay una Gatling Gun en el juego. Está montada en Fort Mercer, en New Austin. Como New Austin se vuelve accesible durante el epílogo, el arma solo puede utilizarse tras el final de la historia principal, cuando el epílogo llega a esa zona del mapa.
En Fort Mercer, la Gatling Gun constituye el único ejemplo de esta arma de fuego rápido en el juego. Su montaje fijo la distingue de las armas que se llevan a pie y deja su uso ligado al fuerte, sin posibilidad de transportarla a otros lugares del mundo.

- ◆The Gatling Gun in Red Dead Redemption is based on the original 1862 Gatling gun, as designed by its namesake, Dr. Richard Gatling, but it lacks the hopper/magazine that is a necessary component to feed ammunition to the real world gun; whereas Marston fires the game weapon by himself, the actual gun required a fulltime loader.
- ◆Even though the Gatling Gun has unlimited ammunition, the person the player is working with will sometimes say that the player "needs the ammunition."
- ◆There is a very rare glitch in which the player uses the Gatling Gun immediately after the Bolt Action Rifle, and the Gatling will only fire one bullet every time the firing handle is turned.
- ◆After completing one or more missions involving the Gatling Gun, it will likely show in the Stats as the player's "favorite weapon". This may be due to the game counting weapon use by shots fired rather than kills or time.
