A Gatling Gun é uma arma de tiro rápido dos primeiros tempos, precursora da metralhadora moderna. Em Red Dead Redemption 2, ela aparece como uma arma montada, não como uma arma que um personagem possa carregar. Seu tipo de munição não é listado separadamente, e ela permanece fixa no local onde foi instalada.
Há apenas uma Gatling Gun no jogo. Ela fica montada em Fort Mercer, em New Austin. Como New Austin se torna acessível durante o epílogo, a arma só pode ser usada depois do fim da história principal, quando o epílogo chega a essa parte do mapa.
Em Fort Mercer, a Gatling Gun é o único exemplo dessa arma de tiro rápido no jogo. Sua montagem fixa a diferencia das armas usadas a pé e limita seu uso ao forte, sem que ela possa ser levada para outras regiões do mundo.

- ◆The Gatling Gun in Red Dead Redemption is based on the original 1862 Gatling gun, as designed by its namesake, Dr. Richard Gatling, but it lacks the hopper/magazine that is a necessary component to feed ammunition to the real world gun; whereas Marston fires the game weapon by himself, the actual gun required a fulltime loader.

- ◆There is a very rare glitch in which the player uses the Gatling Gun immediately after the Bolt Action Rifle, and the Gatling will only fire one bullet every time the firing handle is turned.
- ◆After completing one or more missions involving the Gatling Gun, it will likely show in the Stats as the player's "favorite weapon". This may be due to the game counting weapon use by shots fired rather than kills or time.
