Arthur Morgan parle avec Josiah Trelawny à Clemens Point. Trelawny a organisé une rencontre à Rhodes avec l'un de ses "hommes découragés", un employé des postes disposé à vendre des informations sur de précieuses diligences. Arthur l'accompagne à cheval jusqu'en ville et entre dans le bureau de poste, où Trelawny discute avec Alden Carruthers. Arthur paie Alden pour un renseignement concernant une diligence censée passer par Siltwater Strand. Alden mentionne également un autre employé à Strawberry qui appartient au même réseau.

Arthur et Trelawny traversent Scarlett Meadows à cheval en direction de Siltwater Strand. Arthur est mal à l'aise à l'idée de s'approcher de Strawberry après les dégâts qu'il y a causés en libérant Micah Bell. Trelawny écarte cette inquiétude, puis fait remarquer que les récents exploits du gang Van der Linde les rendent célèbres. Arthur dit espérer que le gang trouvera la liberté avant que sa notoriété ne le rattrape.

Au point d'embuscade, Trelawny décide que la diligence doit être volée sans violence. Il donne à Arthur un Lock Breaker et lui dit de garder ses armes rangées. Lorsque la diligence de Chester Damsen arrive, Trelawny engage la chanteuse et son cocher dans une conversation, la persuadant de se produire pour lui. Arthur se glisse derrière la diligence, ouvre son coffre-fort et prend l'argent sans être vu. Il retourne auprès de son cheval, attend que la diligence parte, puis retrouve Trelawny à Siltwater Strand pour partager le butin.

Anecdotes

  • ◆On the way to commit the robbery, Arthur makes comments in regard to the state of notoriety of the gang during the passing weeks, to which Trelawny replies, "All this trouble... you gentlemen are becoming quite the celebrities, aren't you? Soon you'll be on the front of a dime novel... and dead, of course." This would prove to be an educated assumption, since the Van der Linde gang would go on to become popular folk songs and pulp novels eight years later.
  • ◆Before starting the mission, Trelawny can be seen doing a magic trick with a playing card if Arthur stands away from him and uses binoculars.
  • ◆If the player hasn't already obtained one, Trelawny will give them a lock breaker for free.
  • ◆The player has the option to kill Chester Damsen and the others on the stagecoach when Trelawny distracts her, which leads to him saying "God, these amateurs! Why do I bother?", mounting his horse and riding away. Afterwards, the player finds Trelawny at a crossroad, who expresses his disappointment in Arthur not following his directions.
  • ◆If this is the last main mission to complete before "A Short Walk in a Pretty Town", Trelawny will give Arthur a message from Bill about meeting him in town to help the Grays with something before speaking with Alden.
  • ◆When Trelawny and Arthur are sitting on their horses at the farm, waiting for the stage coach to arrive, the player can ride off about 10m to the left, off the road, turn around and ram Trelawny's horse (aim for the front), so both Arthur and Trelawny fall off. Trelawny will start walking towards the stage coach, while his horse stays put. Depending on timing, two different things can happen - either Trelawny catches up with the stage coach in time, or he doesn't. If he catches up with the stage coach, his horse is suddenly teleported to him, and his conversation with Chester Damsen starts, but at the same time her singing starts. If Trelawny doesn't catch up with the stage coach in time, he is teleported back to the starting position, where his horse is, but if the player keeps riding behind the stage coach they will hear the conversation between Trelawny and Chester Damsen, while the stage coach just continues on and on, heading back into Rhodes.
