Prima del 1899, Ellie Anne Swan uccide sua madre e quattro mariti, Frank, Henry, Howie e Willie. L'ufficio dello sceriffo di Valentine la sospetta degli omicidi e emette una taglia che richiede di consegnarla viva per interrogarla. Nota come la "Black Widow", resta latitante nello State of New Hanover.
Dopo che Arthur Morgan cattura Benedict Allbright, trova il manifesto da ricercata di Ellie nell'ufficio dello sceriffo di Valentine. Seguendo la segnalazione del suo ultimo avvistamento, raggiunge Cumberland Falls in The Heartlands. Ellie si trova lì con un amante e gli dice di attaccare Arthur. Quando Arthur la identifica come la Black Widow, lei lo nega, ma il suo amante capisce chi sia e la esorta ad arrendersi.
Ellie risponde pugnalando l'uomo con il suo Hunting Knife. Poi si scaglia contro Arthur, che la immobilizza e la lega prima di riportarla a Valentine. - ◆If the player is quick enough, they can save Swan's lover from being killed by hogtying her before she kills him. The sheriff will later remark how lucky he was to have survived.
- ◆If the player kills her lover before being spotted, Swan will say "Oh godammit, you got him. The sweet, dumb son of a bitch!"
