Antes de 1899, Ellie Anne Swan mata a própria mãe e quatro maridos, Frank, Henry, Howie e Willie. O escritório do xerife de Valentine suspeita que ela seja responsável pelos assassinatos e oferece uma recompensa por sua captura com vida, para interrogatório. Conhecida como "Black Widow", ela permanece foragida no estado de New Hanover.
Depois de capturar Benedict Allbright, Arthur Morgan encontra o cartaz de procurada de Ellie no escritório do xerife de Valentine. Ele segue até Cumberland Falls, em The Heartlands, onde ela foi vista pela última vez. Ellie está com um amante e manda que ele ataque Arthur. Quando Arthur a chama de Black Widow, ela nega, mas o homem percebe quem ela é e diz que ela deve se entregar.
Ellie responde esfaqueando o homem com sua Hunting Knife. Em seguida, ela tenta atacar Arthur, que a domina, amarra e a leva de volta para Valentine. No caminho, ela tenta convencê-lo a soltá-la e sugere que os dois fujam juntos. Arthur a entrega a Sheriff Malloy, informa que ela matou mais um amante e a deixa numa cela do escritório do xerife.

- ◆She attempts to blackmail Sheriff Malloy to let her out of her cell by threatening to reveal his affair with Moira Calthorpe, but she is unsuccessful.
- ◆If the player is quick enough, they can save Swan's lover from being killed by hogtying her before she kills him. The sheriff will later remark how lucky he was to have survived.
- ◆If the player kills her lover before being spotted, Swan will say "Oh godammit, you got him. The sweet, dumb son of a bitch!"
