Declasse Granger to duży, czterodrzwiowy SUV klasy SUVs, zaliczany do light trucków i mieszczący osiem osób. Szerokie, kanciaste nadwozie ma geometrycznie ukształtowany przód, grill z chromowanymi listwami, okrągłe światła przeciwmgielne i opony o wysokim profilu. Podniesione nadkola, progi, relingi dachowe oraz ciemne wykończenia nadają mu terenowy charakter. Część egzemplarzy ma bullbar, a inne kontrastowe osłony zderzaków i nadkoli.
Turbodoładowany silnik o brzmieniu V8, pięciobiegowa skrzynia i stabilny napęd na cztery koła zapewniają Grangerowi wysoki moment obrotowy oraz wytrzymałość. Nie dorównuje szybkością autom sportowym, lecz dobrze radzi sobie na skałach, piasku i w górskim terenie. Masa pozwala mu przebijać się przez ruch uliczny, ogrodzenia i blokady. Niski prześwit utrudnia jednak pokonywanie stromych schodów i ostrych podjazdów. Odporność na kolizje i ostrzał sprawia, że korzystają z niego NOOSE, Sheriffs i Park Rangers.
W Grand Theft Auto V Granger często pojawia się w Blaine County, między innymi na Route 68 biegnącej przez Harmony oraz w Paleto Bay. Może też stać na polnej drodze przy wschodnim punkcie kontrolnym Fort Zancudo. W Grand Theft Auto Online spotyka się go w pobliżu Davis Quartz, w Downtown i Richman, przy dokach, w Pacific Bluffs oraz koło safe house RON Alternates Wind Farm. Southern San Andreas Super Autos sprzedaje go za $35,000, lecz po aktualizacji San Andreas Mercenaries znika ze strony w wersjach enhanced.

- ◆The name Granger is a subtle poke at the Suburban, as a "granger" is a slang term for a farmer, and the Suburban nameplate was originally applied to rurally-oriented vehicles before its evolution as a modern SUV.
- ◆The Granger is badged as a "3500LX," referring to the engine series used in its real-life inspiration, the Chevrolet Suburban, as well as possibly referencing the vehicle's trim level. It could also reference older generations of the Suburban, which were available as 1500 (half-ton) and 2500 (three-quarter-ton) models.
- ◆Southern San Andreas Super Autos erroneously describes the Granger as a pickup truck.
- ◆In the enhanced version of the game, the Granger was equipped with LED police lights from its FIB counterpart, albeit non-functioning. These were removed in an update.
- ◆Oddly, the Granger's main exhaust pipe has two extensions towards the exhaust manifold despite the engine having only one exhaust manifold. This appears on all of its emergency variants, as well as several other SUVs and several trucks.
- ◆By scrolling through the "Window Tints" options without selecting anything, one can either remove the tint or keep the dark tint. In addition, the Light Smoke tint does not change anything at all.
