A Sniper Rifle é uma arma de ação por ferrolho da classe Sniper rifles, fabricada pela Shrewsbury. Em Grand Theft Auto V e Grand Theft Auto Online, seu visual é baseado na Accuracy International Arctic Warfare, em especial na variante AW-F de coronha dobrável. Ela traz trilhos Picatinny na parte superior e na lateral, além de capacidade para dez disparos. Dano e alcance são altos, enquanto a cadência é baixa.
Trevor recebe uma Sniper Rifle gratuita durante uma de suas missões iniciais. Há outra arma gratuita ao lado de um dos telescópios do Galileo Observatory. A arma aceita Suppressor e Scope melhorada, e a ampliação depende da mira instalada. Black Tint, Army Tint e LSPD Tint também estão disponíveis.
O rifle é voltado a tiros distantes e, com o Suppressor, permite eliminações discretas de longe. Por continuar sendo uma arma de ferrolho, sua cadência e velocidade de recarga a tornam menos adequada a confrontos rápidos do que rifles mais velozes. Tiros no corpo causam danos graves, mas inimigos com armadura resistem melhor, e veículos exigem muitos disparos. Um tiro bem alinhado pode atravessar alvos próximos e eliminar mais de um de uma vez.

- ◆From GTA San Andreas up to the latest games, shooting the birds flying in the air causes them to disappear, with the exception of GTA V and GTA Online, where shooting a bird will kill it.
- ◆A possible overlook, when the Poor Weapons cheat in GTA IV is used, instead of receiving this rifle, the player instead gets the Combat Sniper. This makes the Sniper Rifle the only weapon that cannot be acquired by cheats.
- ◆In GTA IV and its episodes, the sniper rifle's bolt is on the right, but the player character will pull an invisible bolt on the left.
- ◆The sound of the Sniper Rifle firing in GTA Chinatown Wars is recycled from that of the shotgun sound from the 3D Universe games (except for GTA San Andreas).
- ◆The Sniper Rifle in GTA V and GTA Online holds 10 rounds in its magazine, however the magazine juts out significantly further from the weapon than its real-life inspiration, and should be able to hold closer to 20 rounds.
- ◆In GTA V and GTA Online, after firing the last round of a magazine in first person, the character will unnecessarily pull the bolt and push it back into its position, as if there is still a round left, before initiating the reload sequence.
