John Marston encontra Landon Ricketts para beber em Chuparosa e pede informações sobre Javier Escuella. Ricketts não sabe nada, mas pergunta por que John está tão decidido a encontrá-lo. John e Ricketts deixam Chuparosa rumo a Escalera para interceptar o comboio-prisão. Quando as carroças surgem na estrada, eles atacam os soldados que as escoltam. John elimina os guardas e os cocheiros sem destruir as carroças, depois assume o controle do primeiro veículo. Com Ricketts ao seu lado, ele conduz o comboio para o norte, em direção à fronteira, levando os prisioneiros.
Soldados mexicanos fecham a ponte para New Austin e atacam o comboio com tiros, coquetéis incendiários e uma Gatling gun. John abre caminho pela emboscada e usa os explosivos da ponte contra os atacantes enquanto as carroças cruzam para Ramita de la Baya. Já em território americano, os prisioneiros são libertados. Ricketts assume o comando da viagem deles e se despede de John.

Curiosidades
- ◆Landon Ricketts may have never come back from America to Mexico once he escorted the prisoners to the U.S.A. at the end of the mission, since in the newspaper article (published in 1914) about Landon's death, it says that he spent the last three years of his life in the U.S.A., making the year he left Mexico 1911, which is also the year in which he escorts the prisoners into the U.S.A.
- ◆This title is kind of a play on Mexican Train, which is a game played with number dominoes.
- ◆There is a dialogue continuity conflict in this mission. There is a bit where Ricketts admonishes Marston for "jumping fences" and helping both the rebels and Allende. However, this mission can be completed without having done any of the missions given by Vincente de Santa, Luisa Fortuna, or Abraham Reyes.
- ◆At the end of this mission, John and Ricketts part ways, so Ricketts never actually helped John in finding Williamson or Escuella.
- ◆Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor for John Marston, has said that this is his favorite mission in the game.
- ◆The prisoners rescued by Marston are Harris Carruthers, Eudoro de la Barra, Fermin Ichinaga and Porfirio Gutierrez. Even if the player drives the wagon with Ichinaga and Ontiveros, they will still get the cutscene with Carruthers and De la Barra.
- ◆None of the prisoners seem to be the "prominent writer, Castilla" or the "local official" who Luisa identified. However, this is likely just a developer oversight.
- ◆Unluckily for Ichinaga, this is actually the second time that John and Marston have to rescue him, the first being in the mission The Gunslinger's Tragedy.
- ◆At the start of the mission, after the cutscene in which Luisa appears, she can be seen walking into Chuparosa church, where she prays beside the altar.
