John Marston se reúne con Landon Ricketts para tomar una copa en Chuparosa y le pide información sobre Javier Escuella. Ricketts no sabe nada, pero le pregunta por qué John está tan empeñado en encontrarlo. John explica por qué abandonó a su antigua banda. Entonces Luisa Fortuna irrumpe en el saloon y comunica que el coronel Allende ha condenado a muerte, sin juicio, a escritores inocentes y funcionarios del gobierno.
John y Ricketts salen de Chuparosa hacia Escalera para interceptar el convoy de prisioneros. Cuando los carros aparecen en el camino, atacan a los soldados que los escoltan. John acaba con los guardias y los conductores sin destruir los carros, y toma las riendas del primero. Con Ricketts a su lado, lleva el convoy hacia el norte, rumbo a la frontera, con los prisioneros a bordo.
Los soldados mexicanos cierran el puente hacia New Austin y atacan el convoy con disparos, cócteles incendiarios y una Gatling gun. John se abre paso por la emboscada y emplea los explosivos del puente contra los atacantes mientras los carros cruzan a Ramita de la Baya. Ya en suelo americano, los prisioneros quedan libres. Ricketts se hace cargo de su viaje y se despide de John.

Curiosidades
- ◆Landon Ricketts may have never come back from America to Mexico once he escorted the prisoners to the U.S.A. at the end of the mission, since in the newspaper article (published in 1914) about Landon's death, it says that he spent the last three years of his life in the U.S.A., making the year he left Mexico 1911, which is also the year in which he escorts the prisoners into the U.S.A.
- ◆This title is kind of a play on Mexican Train, which is a game played with number dominoes.
- ◆There is a dialogue continuity conflict in this mission. There is a bit where Ricketts admonishes Marston for "jumping fences" and helping both the rebels and Allende. However, this mission can be completed without having done any of the missions given by Vincente de Santa, Luisa Fortuna, or Abraham Reyes.
- ◆At the end of this mission, John and Ricketts part ways, so Ricketts never actually helped John in finding Williamson or Escuella.
- ◆Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor for John Marston, has said that this is his favorite mission in the game.
- ◆The prisoners rescued by Marston are Harris Carruthers, Eudoro de la Barra, Fermin Ichinaga and Porfirio Gutierrez. Even if the player drives the wagon with Ichinaga and Ontiveros, they will still get the cutscene with Carruthers and De la Barra.
- ◆None of the prisoners seem to be the "prominent writer, Castilla" or the "local official" who Luisa identified. However, this is likely just a developer oversight.
- ◆Unluckily for Ichinaga, this is actually the second time that John and Marston have to rescue him, the first being in the mission The Gunslinger's Tragedy.
- ◆At the start of the mission, after the cutscene in which Luisa appears, she can be seen walking into Chuparosa church, where she prays beside the altar.
