John Marston incontra Landon Ricketts davanti a un drink a Chuparosa e gli chiede informazioni su Javier Escuella. Ricketts non ne ha, ma gli domanda perché John sia così determinato a trovarlo. John racconta il motivo per cui ha lasciato la sua vecchia gang. Luisa Fortuna irrompe poi nel saloon con la notizia che Colonel Allende ha condannato a morte senza processo scrittori e funzionari governativi innocenti.
John e Ricketts lasciano Chuparosa diretti a Escalera per intercettare il convoglio di prigionieri. Quando i carri compaiono sulla strada, attaccano i soldati che li scortano. John elimina le guardie e i conducenti senza distruggere i carri, poi prende il controllo del veicolo di testa. Con Ricketts al suo fianco, dirige il convoglio verso il confine e conduce i prigionieri a nord.
I soldati messicani bloccano il ponte per New Austin e attaccano il convoglio con fucili, bottiglie incendiarie e una Gatling gun. John si apre un varco nell'imboscata, usando contro gli assalitori gli esplosivi sul ponte mentre i carri attraversano fino a Ramita de la Baya. Sul lato americano, i prigionieri vengono liberati. Ricketts prende in mano il loro viaggio e si separa da John.

Curiosità
- ◆Landon Ricketts may have never come back from America to Mexico once he escorted the prisoners to the U.S.A. at the end of the mission, since in the newspaper article (published in 1914) about Landon's death, it says that he spent the last three years of his life in the U.S.A., making the year he left Mexico 1911, which is also the year in which he escorts the prisoners into the U.S.A.
- ◆This title is kind of a play on Mexican Train, which is a game played with number dominoes.
- ◆There is a dialogue continuity conflict in this mission. There is a bit where Ricketts admonishes Marston for "jumping fences" and helping both the rebels and Allende. However, this mission can be completed without having done any of the missions given by Vincente de Santa, Luisa Fortuna, or Abraham Reyes.
- ◆At the end of this mission, John and Ricketts part ways, so Ricketts never actually helped John in finding Williamson or Escuella.
- ◆Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor for John Marston, has said that this is his favorite mission in the game.
- ◆The prisoners rescued by Marston are Harris Carruthers, Eudoro de la Barra, Fermin Ichinaga and Porfirio Gutierrez. Even if the player drives the wagon with Ichinaga and Ontiveros, they will still get the cutscene with Carruthers and De la Barra.
- ◆None of the prisoners seem to be the "prominent writer, Castilla" or the "local official" who Luisa identified. However, this is likely just a developer oversight.
- ◆Unluckily for Ichinaga, this is actually the second time that John and Marston have to rescue him, the first being in the mission The Gunslinger's Tragedy.
- ◆At the start of the mission, after the cutscene in which Luisa appears, she can be seen walking into Chuparosa church, where she prays beside the altar.
